I would use the term bland.
Tetris disagrees.
Personally, I don’t find Hideo Kojima games “good.” But I think they are absolutely fascinating.
It's entertaining for the first 8-10h. 70h in and it's just boring now. Same tasks over and over with a sprinkling of interesting side quests.
I see your point though.
It's pretty pathetic to say that this is the most entertaining aspect of Starfield. It's hilarious how much trolling and BS posts are everywhere online about this game.
On a side note - BGS have been super silent on any updates. Should be something out by now but nothing. Just them posting on twitter comparing creatures against each other.
NMS is pretty samey after 10 hours of seeing basically the same thing. What kept me intrigued was all the little side things to do. What bummed me out is there is little reason to do any of it. The story was kind of neat but i dont really play for stories. Expeditions don't transfer. (weak)
I actually enjoy a good bit of grind loops as long as there is some progression. Some thing big to build toward. NMS gave bits and pieces of it but never really tied it together. I still got 600+ hours out of a $10-20 game, or whatever it was when i bought it on sale.
Starfield has major potential to be a really cool exploration game with good FPS and decent space FPS. I don't care about the game not being continuous. I usually end up fast travelling anyway for 90% of games that allow it. If I want planet landing I will play ED who has had 10 years to make plaent landing fun.
NMS. ok it is fun to come into the atmosphere and hear the hail or gravel or whatever the ♥♥♥♥ that sound is, hit the roof of your garage but it wasn't challenging at all and served little purpose.
One thing I really do like about NMS is flying OVER the planet. Searching for little odds and ends to check out a ship here and backpack mod there. I would love if SF made atmosphere flight a thing but I have no idea what that entails.
I agree that a lot of the dungeons are the same but I dont even care much about that. I want a good reason to go to that dungeon or collect minerals and scan planets for rare things to find. I want to build some ships with some fun weapon arrays that I can pit against tougher opponents.I want to build addons to my ship that require first building this "workbench" and collecting these elements and that rare ancient tech or what ever. Give us fuel damnit! I want to manage my fuel consumption and give a reason for food.
As it is now I think the game is great but it does indeed feel unfinished. Like maybe they are giving a sandbox for upcoming DLC or mods to build some fan-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-tastic mods like they always do .
