Memory substrate question
I currently have around 200 hours in the game and I haven't done more than 3 of the main quests. I have been exploring the entire universe and I am just over 2/3 of full surveying it, ive stopped to make my character home however I have went between many stores about 15 times and I have only found 1 memory substrate, after doing a round I wait for 24 hours local time (regardless of the other time) and then I do it again in reverse, wait, then rinse and repeat. It never appears but all the other ingredients I need do. No where on the internet says this is "super rare" so just how rare is this stuff, many time i dont buy anything from the vendors, am I required to buy everything or a huge portion before they "restock"... what gives with this not appearing in stores I need it for my outposts.

What's your level? I started finding a lot more of it available from merchants once I was higher level.

An option is to get it as drops. The planet Bel II in the Bel system has flying creatures that drop Memory Substrate. You can farm up quite a few a lot more quickly than waiting for vendors to refresh to buy just a couple at a time.

In-game, it's listed as a 'unique' resource, so, it's pretty rare. Not all vendors are equally likely to have it. Dietrich Sieghart at Neon should be the best bet.

If you really want to get tons of it, go to Fermi VII-a, and chuck Nautiloos into a zoo and start crafting.

Memory Substrate is rare, but any vendor that sells organic resouces should have a small chance of having it in stock from level 16?+ 18?+ or so.
You can also buy the item it is used to make directly from industrial resource traders.
(Outlands in New Atlantis, Clint in Gargarin Landing, generic 'Trader' in some civilian outposts, etc.)
I think they have a 25% to have 4-6 at the same level that the resource shows up.
You could also just go the Fermi VII-a and get it yourself.
