The final quest gives a rank of phased time. So really you only need to find 23 temples.
Also you might need to complete the MQ but instead of traveling to the unity go back to Vlad and see if he has temples for the rest of the artifacts you've gathered.
But if are planning on playing NG+, I wouldn't worry about getting them all. Each NG+ you can do temple runs again, till you max the powers out at rank 10.
If you delay entering the Unity after confronting the Starborn and getting their artifacts, then Vlad will start giving you Temple locations again based on those new artifacts until you have all 24. It is possible to miss out on one if Barrett is killed by the Hunter, and you haven't yet gotten the quest with him for Temple Sigma. It is also possible to find Sigma on your own first or be given it by Vlad, and then get it a 2nd time from Barrett.
To keep track I just have a list of the Greek alphabet with two columns, one for artifact and one for temple for each letter. When it's complete, I'll have two check marks for each letter and all 24 Starborn powers. Doing it that way means I know which ones I'm missing and won't get confused.
You MUST own the artifact for the temple to appear. So every time you gain new artifacts you should seek out the temples associated until you catch up to the point Vladimir has no more temples for you.
For example, I am finishing off NG4, which means all the ranks of my power should be rank 5 at the end except Parallel Self. This is because Parallel Self can gain an extra rank if you find the Parallel Self temple before Barrett asks to to get a power, doing the quest gives you an extra rank.
This also does not take into account that if Barrett died before his quest, you skipping temples, or if you were unlucky enough to get the missing temple bug.
Ok, so I can do the final fight and then still do some if I missed any?
You do not need to go straight to the Unity after the final artifact.
You can go to the Unity and come back as well, then return again later.
They really should have made the engame fight change up each newgame instead and the more starborn you kill, the more quantum essence you gather and then use that to upgrade the specific powers you wanted to upgrade.
You don't need Vlad to tell you where they are. The temples are generated in the same systems over and over ago. You can discovet which planets have them just by visiting those systems, and the temple you want is the one that is named after the artifact that goes with it. (Omnicron is always void form, for example)
You have 24 (plus Barrett's quest temple) the temples are on fixed planets, but some can be randomized as to which temple is on the planet.
If you have the artifact for the power you want to raise, entering the system with the temple will trigger the quest which skips using Vladimir. However as said above it is still kinda randomized which system has which temple.
Correct, however as I just explained there is a variance as to which of the fixed planets has the Omnicrom temple.
A minor correction, to avoid confusion. Barret's Sigma temple is one of the 24.
