Starfield in it's whole, is a narrative created to shatter my immersion. Im to grown up to like this. It's not a game for adults in my opinion, if you're used to be your own.
Oh and lack of ground vehicles is totally unrealistic
at the end of Crimson Fleet quest line, when u are confronting Commander Ikande, he asks "WHY DID U DO THIS!!!!!", and u cant answer "Coz you kidnapped ME!", coz game does not track how did u join the Fleet.
on the other hand, interstellar should still happen in an instant, thats what the grav drives were made for.
agree on the ship capacity side... disagree on the manual carrying...
you can pick up as much trash as you want... at some point you will loose oxygen (stamina) while running, than while walking... and continued moving will ultimatively eat up your health.
it impacts your jump and boost heigth.
just fill your pockets on a low grav moon and test it for your self... the more weight you carry around the less height you will gain... until you hit the ground from jumping as hard as if you would have jumped from the Mercury Tower Apartment... without a boostpack.
all other points... agree... but it would fit into a true survival mode better than in a "normal" game.
as for my one and only gripe...
i don't want to be teleported out of the ship when i land somewere... especially not if i only bring some passengers or packages and parcels... or boxes of vegetables.
[_E_] = Leave pilot seat... ...why the heck would I want to do that in a space fight?
I mean: Even if I'd have to pee... ...I'd be in my space suit, which dang sure should have all the relevant facilities. And if not, hey, the secret of hygiene cleaner spray will have been taken along when humanity left Earth
And it doesn't even get blocked by remapping the key - that only remaps it while the ship is at rest...
What really, really tore it for me, though when I was able to persuade an annoyingly smug woman to just hand over a very valuable trophy - one she was supposed to be awarding to someone that very day - just because I'd leveled up my speechcraft . . . er, my charisma? Whatever.
I guess I'll start with my top 5.
1. The hitscan guns. You ever try shooting a bird from reaeaaly far away? You'll learn pretty fast that there are no actual projectiles in this game.
It's even more obvious when you have Phased Time activated, since you'll see your targets taking damage WAY before the bullets and lasers even reach them.
2. The fact that every melee weapon is a re-skinned ripshank. Seriously man, if I'm swinging a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ katana, I should be able to hit people from AT LEAST two feet away, but I can't even swat those bugs in the Lock without crouching first!
3. How ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ flat the planets are. And not just the terrain, but the fact planets are broken down into square tiles.
4. The general lack of variety when it comes to planets - I looked it up, and there are only a total of 430 possible environment iterations. That means when you factor in all of the flora, fauna, minerals, atmospheric conditions, and biomes, there are only 430 possible combinations.
There are over 900 planets you can land on in this game, and they don't even have enough unique environments to cover HALF of them!
5. The copy-pasted caves that are full of dead aliens.
I think this one is pretty self-explanatory lol
Exposition used for world building that doesn't show up in game (I.E prosthetics)
Lack of struggle in regards to survival (I.E too many med packs and easy credit making)
Lack of political factions (I.E uniformity of beliefs among citizens)
Lack of factional consequence (I.E being able to join every faction in game)
Lack of exploration (I.E. every system you visit is premarked and settled)
Lack of community (I.E your crew fill a slot but have no real relations between them)
