I'll believe it when SQ42 and Star Citizen actually release and are good.
This is what they've spent all those years working on (including Squadron 42), and 90% of what you saw in that presentation has been available in the game for several years now.
But I am also hoping that I am entirely wrong, because if they ever actually finish it. Or even get it to a polished beta state, it is going to be amazing. The recent news that Squadron 42 is actually feature complete has me pretty hopeful that I may very well be proven wrong.
Chris Roberts' biggest issue, which is well known going back to his projects over 30 years ago, is that he suffers from dreaming too big and is constantly wanting to add features such that projects will never get completed. So "feature complete" for Squadron 42 is HUGE.
And you're seeing the results of that and others like me in the video above, I'm not ashamed to be supporting the project when we get results in return.
Your argument is like trying to mock someone who made a return on their stock investment.
scam citizen is forever in alpha and never coming out
Star Citizen has been in a kind of a limbo after they moved a lot of their devs over to Squadron 42 in 2019 to get it done. Squadron 42 is now feature complete and they've moved a lot of those devs back to SC, which means that a lot of features that are ready for Squadron 42 will be ported over to Star Citizen in the near future. Server Meshing (which they've shown a working prototype of) is the last blocker to more substantial content like proper AI behavior, large(r) scale player gatherings/battles and performance improvements etc.
I'm curious what you're basing your ''scam'' claim on, the fact that it's been in development for such a long time?
UE has plenty of tech demos that do exactly what they show and nothing else. Looks amazing until you need something different from them than what's shown. Turn to the left at this point? Don't. You'll see what wasn't meant to be seen.
It's probably better to wait and see than place any further bets on them. I stopped defending Cloud Imperium long ago. They lost my trust, and they have to earn it back. It's that simple.
They haven't earned it yet, and a tech demo ain't gonna cut it with me. I've been around long enough I know better.
So you can't enjoy it casually because it's full of sweats who basically live in the game? Doesn't sound very appealing.
I kickstarted Star Citizen way back when it first was on Kickstarter, before they did all the other money grabs. I'm in it for just Squadron 42.
