Comspike install?

So am I insane or is the inability to install comspike on the Razerleaf a bug?

You can only install it once during that quest, after the quest is over it's gone.

But you can reuse it if you disassemble the ship that has it equipped.

Install an Equipment plate first, then install it onto that.
Note, you can buy more comspikes from the Key

Yeah, i put mine on the Razorleaf. Just changed the top angled bit to one with anchorpoints. Still looks essentially the same, but now with comspike and a jammer.

Ill have to wait till i get home, but its a structural piece that is triangular and angled, might be hope tech, and has an anchor point on bottom, back and 3 on the top angled bit

Hmm okay oddly enough right when I get into the ship builder at The Key there is an error right away that there isn't an attached piece.

Really? I installed it on all 10 of my ships in my current playthrough. Not even when I was on the mission that required it. I put it on 8 of them after having finished that (becuase I didn't own those 8 ships at that time).

Same for the special shield technology that you need for the Legacy's End mission. I put it on all of my ships. The boost to shield from it is nice to have.

I bet you just didn't have an available spot to mount it on your other ships that you tried. It can't go on just "any old open slot". It requires a slot that specifically allows it. As someone mentioned above, you can use an "equipment plate" to mount it in some places that wouldn't normally allow it.

So I literally start the builder off with an error when using the Razerleaf... I'm so baffled!

OMG I just found this youtube video. So if you double click on your ship it will show "unattached modules," even though they look attached. Holy smokes that was annoying!
