Ship bug, hollow/invisible interior can't find a fix.

So I made some small changes to my ship and since then the interior has gone hollow as seen below

All I did was choose an alternate variation on two habs, now if I go into the ship it is hollow inside and I can not interact with the door to exit. I have tried going back into ship builder and replacing the habs but still the same result.

This has not happened with my other ships so what on earth is going on? Has my ship bugged out beyond repair?

BTW the ship is the Star Eagle awarded to me by completing Ranger quests.

I have done some research on the net regarding this problem, seems a few people have had this issue, solutions offered including editing weapons or other parts of the ship have not worked.

When I fast travelled to the ship I appeared to be in the cockpit, but could not see the ships cockpit or interface, basically this ship is busted and now useless without an official fix.

Anyone with suggestions?

go edit the ship. either add something or remove something. doesnt have to be big. can also try to change color of the ship. helps sometimes.

is it only that ship? same on diffrent one? I have that probem in new atlantis were ground is gone and I cant use some elevators. it is some kind off grafik bug and hade to start over to not get it. test a earlyer save when you dident have the probem. seems to have with grafik card crash and then it sticks with the game

Thanks for the suggestion. Sadly though even after removing and replacing habs in the ship, also moving parts around, the issue still is not fixed.

I find it odd that I have edited the Frontier and also tweaked the Mantis ship and this did not happen.

It is only that ship, none of my other two ships or any areas.

I do recall at one point before experiencing this bug the ship had vanished completely. I went to the trader, chose one of my other ships as home, they appeared fine and worked. I then went back and chose my Star Eagle, it appeared again, but then when I went inside I experienced this bug and can not find a way yet to fix it.

Only ships I see like that have inaccessible landing bay doors. Console Unlock command works on most doors and hatches and should let you in. Worst case use the console to spawn you another and sell the broken one.

Thanks. I can enter through the landing bay door, but then I am in a hollow broken shell as seen in the picture, at this point I can not exit through the landing bay door so have to fast travel out.

I am gonna keep messing with it and hope something works, may even replace the landing bay to see if that works. I would be gutted if not since I am relatively early game and only have these three ships and the Star Eagle is my most powerful with the most cargo space.

Hopefully using console command is avoided (although tbh I have not learnt how to use that).

First time I took off in the Mantis only the interior flew into space. The ship had a nice view but was a bit short on engines and weapons ;)
Had to restert the mission to get past the bug.

I had this happen to me when i landed with my 8th ship i "aquired" from Eclipse in space and tried to get back into the (heavily modified) Frontier.
Fast travel was not available anymore.
IIRC i ended up setting that damn eclipse ship as home ship again, got in it and took off.
I landed at another outpost of mine and successfully switched back to the Frontier.

Ok, I set Star Eagle as home ship when docked to a space station, trying to board the ship I am essentially sat in space. For some reason the star chart thinks I am in Akila (the place where I modified the ship.

This is a similar problem to what others on the net have posted where they seem to appear to be at Atlantis when boarding their ships and facing the same invisible interior issues.

I tried to replace the landing bay but only one option is available to me at the space station I docked to, and that one misses side connection points required for ship parts.

Oh boy is this baffling and frustrating.

Wait! I think I just fixed it!

So I entered my ship from the space station dock, again all was hollow. I went to the star map, selected Akila and chose land. Low and behold I was on the surface stood in front of my ship, I re-entered my ship and can now finally access it as normal and everything works again.

Clearly this is a bug the devs need to fix, no idea why it happens but it is annoying.

Hate to raise the thread from the dead but I just encountered this bug as well. Trying everything I can to fix since I just spent hours building the ship.
