Level 60 and no 40 power reactors?

I cannot find either of the 40 power reactors -Pinch 8Z Reactor or SF40 Sheard Flow Reactor.
I haven't seen any of the Sheard Flow Reactors my entire playthrough. Is this a weird bug or bad luck?

Is there a console code to populate one on the vendor?

Different vendors have different reactor options. You may need to visit each major location to find the one you want.

Both are available at most ship technicians, but what they have is random. And if you just made 60, the game might not recognize it. So, leaving the game and restarting it. If that doesn't work, then you're at the mercy of the RNG for what ship technicians have it. To check to see which vendors may have it, look up both on the Game8 site (just google the reactor name and add Game8 to the search). It will show all vendors who may have them.

I picked up the SF40 and maxed out my C class ship that I call Dark Star. It must have been at Akila or Red Mile (a quick search popped up those two places and I frequent both of them). You do need level 4 of Starship Design to access the item. I think I had reached that point around level 58 or so just last week. I also had maxed out Piloting to fly C class ships. I got Dark Star aka Star Eagle as a reward for finishing the UC storyline to become a citizen on Jemison. They also gave me a penthouse suite (which is a total wast because of the inventory handling between ship, personal and crates you can build).

i put a mod that let you get all parts from one location instead of searching for right vendor - saves time & nerves :)

SF40 and some other items are locked behind M class unlock (hidden class for now i guess)

you can unlock them with the right code to unlock M Class and a location with all ship parts ie. Atlantis Shipyard Mod

SF40 is not M class its C and there is also even better reactor also giving 40 power.
just need to find right vendor to have it and also requires the Starship Design skill at rank 4

Thanks all, not my first play through, I just installed mod the all parts mod and was able to get it on my buy list. Had no trouble finding the SF40 my first play through. Seemed odd that it never spawned on the vendors for me normally on this run.

There are only 2 reactors with 40 power, The Pinch 8Z Reactor and the SF40 Sheared Flow Reactor.

The first is available at the Stroud Eckland Shipyard, Red Mile, Akilla City, Hopetown, Neon, the Clinic and the Taiyo Astroneering offices (in Ryujin Tower, Neon).

The second is available at all of the same places as the first, but also Cydonia, Gagarin, New Atlantis, New Homestead, the Red Devils HG, the Den, and your own Outposts (so practically everywhere).

Solution:

Build outpost
Build landing pad on outpost
Mod ship on outpost

The only things you don't get are specialized modules unique to the various builders.

I did that, and it did not show there, nor did any other Sheard Flow reactor. Hence the post.
