On a game they expect to be a modding platform... They didn't even release a POI maker along side it.
They never do, they need time to strip licensed components and other things they can't release in the editor to us. Waiting for that to be done would mean delaying the release, so they launch the game first and the CK later. They did the same thing with Skyrim and fallout 4, so we were expecting the same thing here. Hence the expected 4-6 month wait we have based on those titles
Most of the modders and Youtube channels have had their hopes ground into dust except a few bitter holdouts getting trolled by competition ruthlessly alot like these forums.
Maybe the DLC will be amazing though and thats quite possible.
Starfield wasnt ruined utterly like some of the competition, and the bullies know that now and are not happy.
Well at least Starfield is playable unlike so many other games and some care enough to complain and or cheer and things.
Who can tell how it will go its very interesting.
Might not be until the DLCs come out (assuming there are DLCs)
The mod managers are getting the updates they need. the only issue is making sure the mods are labled to go in to the right place.
Then again Its not a multiplayer always online. Its a single player game so there is no need for consecutive players to be on... only that products were moved.
Never have released it at the same time as the game. Bethesda use the tools right up to the last minute before they even considering making them user friendly enough for the general populace. Also some of the time, the dev tools are not even in one tool set. It might be two or three separate ones that need merging in to one pack.
Creation kit is here but
there isn't any docs yet about how the textures work
or how the ship modules work
so it will be a bit before ppl can use it much
