Does anyone attack your outposts?
In fallout 4 attacks happened all the time with supermutants and other things, do attacks happen in your outposts in starfield?

Probably not, I've not seen any pirates even if ships land nearby, they use to stay around their ship, although I've once seen a battle with settlers against another group in a random structure, so in theory they could also attack your outpost, making a landing on your pad if you have one - or steal things if nobody is there, but that's just theory, IDK. I'm also curious to know exactly what's about.
Hostile fauna could lurk around and you can place turrets for defense.

As I was about to get in my ship to finish the game I looked down and saw about 12 level 5 Ecliptic dudes running into my base from outside. I took them all down and then looked around for a cause or a ship or something but nothing. It doesn't appear to be attached to any quests or whatnot. So I guess it was a random attack? I wish it happened more often.

I wonder wether they steal your cargo...

Nobody cares about the outposts, I had 4 in total before I went NG+ and none ever got attacked, even the one a level 75 planet with fauna. Outposts are a thoroughly pointless addition and the outposts defenses even more so.

I've noticed that the game didn't even provide a simple door in the construction kit, or did I oversee it? I only found a airlock with stairs.

I am not sure man, I had an entirely utilitarian approach with outposts since they are pointless. I only built a few to get achievements and then I built one purely to get higher level missions. It actually looked pretty funny, an outpost beacon in the middle of the forest with just a bed and 3 mission boards and nothing else.

I visited all systems, visited all the dungeons, completed all side quests except one blocked by a faction, done all factions except one.

I have get some people hate me without doubt.

In the outpost i have stored all the inorganic resources(150 each) and few of the unique inorganic resources, i have 14(always 150 each) organic resources.

I have around 45 different type/version of weapons, 16 full space suit stored and 9 other not complete.

Various items/books found in all the travels and over 100 different clothes.

All this things in my outpost, i visit very often to store new things.

I was attacked two times in around 150 hours...

I not even ever builded the turrets.

If all this things not trigger an attack by someone at my outpost, not sure how i can trigger it.

This. It does happen occasionally.
It happens more often if you build the armillary in it.

I landed at the big pad I built in my outpost, and I saw the usual ship landing nearby. I wanted to build some new facilities and I entered the build mode, so I ignored it for a while. Suddenly, there were tracers everywhere and my wind turbines started taking damage and stopped working.

I saw a bunch of Ecliptic infantry attacking the outpost. I killed them, then ran to the enemy ship, boarded it, ran to the cockpit and killed the crew before they could take off. There is now an empty ship on the horizon. I later added another one, when it landed on my next visit.

so your outpost can be attacked by ecliptic and crimson fleet, although it does seem rare. If you build the armillary at an outpost, you will get starborn that will attack you infinitely. Its the only way to farm quantum essence as far as I'm aware

Yes, Ecliptic has made minor attacks. They took out about 5 helium and iron extractors. Jemison has animals trying to attack but the security bots and turrets usually handle that well. I put a combat follower at any outpost that will likely see attacks.
watchdog79 Oct 5, 2023 @ 11:31pm
Oh, yes, the local fauna can and will attack too. They seem to attack only the crew, turrets and robots, though.

When you land at your outpost, sometimes within a minute you will hear a ship.
It will come land somewhere (usually far away) from your base, and then spawn 5-10 spacers/pirates/ecliptic who with walk to your base and start shooting anything that uses/produces power.
(If you start hearing lots of explosions and seeing lots flashes while building, your base is getting shot up.)
You just hold R on everything that is broken to fix it afterwards.
You can immediately run out towards the ship and snipe the attack far away from the base.
You can steal the ship they came in on.
(although I have had problems with this deleting all my cargo if I travel anywhere in it...)
You can clear the ship and leave it there, and maybe that prevents future attacks?

I've had a bunch of base attacks, they aren't really a big deal. Get some garbage loot, wastes some time.

Game as lifeless as a graveyard:
- no random galactic wide events
- no outposts attacks
- no crimson fleet, spacers/pirates raids on colonies/cities
Nothing. It's really hilarious that in 2023 game developers have less imagination than in past century, but with almost unlimited possibilities to implement everything they want. Or it's just a pure laziness?

I've had one attack, a ship landed in the distance, I looked through my scope and saw ecliptic mercs approaching, had a shooting match, thought I got them all, then some of my settlement started blowing, windmills, mining rigs, puzzled I went searching and found a single merc hiding behind some objects on the terrain.
