Can we upgrade weapon tiers?

Bought the rapidshot shotgun around lvl 25 and it does 140 dmg per shot...now at lvl 41 an ordinary advanced breach shotgun has 280 dmg...so is there any way to upgrade my rapidshot to an advanced variant?
Also i got a full armor suit as reward for UC vanguard...the suit and pack were only calibrated and the helm advanced..so should i now just save every time i'm sue to get a reward in case stuff isnt all advanced stats?

Only thing you can do is add modifications at a bench.

sooo...no option at all xcept console commands?? And thus losing achievements?

Not until they add it in a DLC or more likely somebody mods it in once the Creation Kit is released : /

sadly no , you have to find a new rapidshot in a better quality. I hope they will give us the chance to do that and patch that . I have some cool looking unique armors, but they are standard quality, and every random higher tier junk armor you can buy or find is better at higher levels.
