I'm using a ROG Strix laptop so not much i can do with the panel, but as it's the only game i have this issue on i'm not concerned about a fault or anything. Just kind of ruins the immersion when every 25 minutes i'm quiting to desktop to sort out the flickering issue. I'll check G-Sync, see if that's where the solution is, cheers.
Cyberpunk runs mostly on highest settings with no issues and that's with ray tracing on.
I get black ghosting and after playing a longer time the flickering thing you are talking about.
(rtx3070 laptop)
(black ghosting = where text or something bright was then becomes black then disappears instead of just disappearing...)
I don't have either issue in any other game.
This has to be related to refresh rate / FPS and sync between the monitor and gpu.
Try capping you gpu to a lower setting and see if it helps.
the fix i found for this exact problem of being in certain zones like The Well and Cydonia with the screen sort of brightening every few frames like a subtle but annoying strobe effect: Nvidia control panel > manage 3d settings > program settings > select or otherwise "add" Starfield > set "monitor technology" to "fixed refresh rate" > apply ; just make sure to put on Vsync in-game if you don't want tearing. this absolutely seems to be a conflict between the game engine and adaptive sync technology. anyway, solved for me, never needed to delete any DXcaches or .dll's.
If anybody searches for this problem and finds this post on Google, like I did, this is the answer. Turning off Freesync and enabling in-game Vsync fixed this issue for me.
