Can you reset your skill points ?

Hey guys

I made a mistake, I thought I could invest in Diplomacy and instigation to gain a "permanent" ally, but I just realised that when in scan mode, I can only set ONE status on the target, either Diplomacy, or Instigation, not both.

I wasted 4 points in Diplomacy and 1 in Instigation :(

I'm imagining it's because some skillpoints unlock recipes and weapons mods and they(bgs) didn't want you to make your OP rifle then respec into C class ship piloting or smth.

When I hit level 85 it felt like the leveling was slowing down, so reading guides I found a semi-cheesy way to get more levels/points when I needed to advance a skill. Just find a planet/moon that has Iron and Aluminum and a long sleep cycle. Set up an outpost with a couple of large storage banks, one for each ore. I set up a storage tower that holds 25k ore for each. Sleep until the storage is full then hit your workbench and make adaptive frames.

With a macro like autohotkey that will do the menu clicking for you it takes less than a minute to make 25k frames. Should give you a level or two each time, rinse and repeat as needed. You can sell or not sell the frames but it's a pain trying to sell 200k frames with the stupid small vendor wallets. I don't want to do console commands to give the vendors more cash so I just dump them on the floor.

Possibly, but I still think that the player should have the choice to do so.

You cannot respec simply because every skill upgrade requires doing something. So if you have 4 points available you cannot just upgrade one skill to level 4 right away. Anyone who played the game should know that.

Open the console and type: "help diplomacy 4" without quotes and scroll up to review the results looking for the "perk" entry. (I'll save you the trouble, it's 2C59E1)
Now type: "player.removeperk 2C59E1"

You will most likely have to do this 4 times and you will NOT get your 4 perk points back

As others have pointed out there is no level cap... so just keep playing

Because...

There is no level cap. Don't like what you chose? Level up and choose something else.

Why is this so hard to grasp?

This is the reason and it is a good reason.
