Ship power allocation gimmick is just terrible.
Dear any Bethesda person that sees this,

There is not one single thing fun or intuitive about the ship power allocation system you've got in this game. Having to scramble to reallocate your weapons & shields when you hop into a system with hostiles immediately firing on you, is just dirty. Elite Dangerous has been around for years, and yet this game doesn't have customizable allocation presets?

Either patch us in custom preset options, or just drop the 'grav' section entirely. There's no 'fun' in having to manually screw around with these allocations, and it certainly doesn't enhance any notion of 'realism', particularly in the arbitrary manner things just deallocate themselves on jumps anyhow.

Ah, I've never had that issue. I only have a crew bonus pip in engines from Sam, and I've never felt the need to remove all power from them. I don't really think I'd ever want to remove all power from shields either, just a pip or two on the larger generators.

You don't need multiple cores to power things, the cores go up to 40 power, and you can get more based on skills. If you could equip multiple cores, it'd be far too easy to max power all systems right out of the gate the second you could mod your ship.

Key point, when you can start modifying your ship. When you have 100k+ sure you can do it more on budget... but the better cores...

Also I have yet to find the 40 power C core, I have found 39 and 38 but not yet found the 40 one. I have the max power grav drive.

Also when you would be after maxing power out is when you are minmaxing the character and ship. Since minmax ship outclasses the starborn trash ship.
You can modify your ship the second you get out of the tutorial though...

And add what? at that point the potential money you have right out of tutorial is less than some of the more advanced items you could get(not to mention the best you could hope for is maybe a few points more in power or in attack Ect. In short just one system upgrade). And even so, if you are just following the story you end up with a weak ship and even weaker you.

I'm not really sure what your point is any more. You seem to be arguing just to argue.

I don't have an issue with it. I have learned to keep at least 1 pt into all guns so they are charged up.

When I travel I just drop engines and when select grav it throws all there and when done it puts back into pool so can either do another jump or back to engines.

It was annoying til realized can hold down the up or down part for a second longer and throws all the power into it. Altho the systems that get a bonus sometimes cause this to be janky.

Also when I am leaving planet , you have a quick few seconds to see power but even tho it showing animation you can quickly move power to where it randomly dropped a pt.

II play with controller so would be hard to set presets unless I want to mix in keyboard with it.

I only get mixed up a bit when scan enemy and forget their systems are controlled different and start messing up my power,

But I like it, makes for tactical decisions when your reactor can't power everything, I am assuming once high enough and with better reactors and skills it becomes a mute point.

Tell me you have never played a Space Game without saying it

I feel the exact opposite. I find the system both fun and intuitive. I also like how the max power levels vary depending on your ship and build as you progress throughout the game. It adds a fun and thoughtful layer on top of an existing mechanic.

In conclusion, Bethesda person that reads this: Good job!

From your comments I see you are not playing with a controller otherwise you would get the hell angry about it...

Why limit one's self with a controller in this game?

I don't mind the power allocation.
I do mind the fact there are no pre-sets quick bar setup like there are with weapons.

Why limit yourself to only a keyboard a mouse, when PC has nearly infinite options for customizability and playing how you want? 😜
