fallout was better.
you know it's sad when you've played starfield for like 60 hours, and you've almost done every single quest in the entire game. and you've only visited like 40 or so systems, and maybe 60 planets.

they could have just made the enemies scale to your level, and removed like 60% of the empty ass space in the game, and filled the smaller area with more ♥♥♥♥.

i'm downloading fallout 4 again.

We can and we will. It basically has the fallout 4 combat but with worse melee

Fo4 has good mods - but is not stable - flying items, not removed dead bodies etc ... same here in starfield after 300 hours ... they never fixed this prob in Fo4 - so hopefully they work on it in starfield.

But true - FO4 is atm better ... cause all DLCs and a couple of good Mods fit this game !

I thought the gunplay in Starfield was much improved over fallout 4. Agree about the melee.

Starfield is Fallout minus the fun and music.

I visited all the system and checked from the map all the planets.

The lack of dungeons is impressive in starfield.

For what have seen, Starfield have even less dungeons of fallout 3(2008 game)

The quests are a bit more of 100, but the large majority are fetch quests, so a player can finish them quickly.

It's like Bethesda not finished the game but put on sale even knowing wasn't finished.

While we are comparing, minecraft had better looking pixels.

True.

Let's just say I liked the setting of Fallout better, and, I also like rather focused gameplay better than a gazillion of things you can do in a game, and a thousand planets you can visit (or not visit). Fallout 4 already had plenty of stuff to do.

Starfield overwhelms me with mediocre "let's keep the player busy" activites, which are no fun after a few times anymore. It's a typical modern game. To make the modern player say "WOW, IS THAT BIG!!!", but doesn't offer much depth or focus in anything it does.

Might give it another go one day, but, after 11 hours, it simply bored me.

Not really, Starfield is a Bethesda game, like Fallout 4 and Skyrim are. A variety of characters, an open sandbox in which you decide which location and dungeon you travel to, a main story that you often only finish later because you distract yourself with lots of small side quests. many collective stands, building your own house or place, etc. etc.

Not really true, there isn't an open sandbox and you can't really travel to dungeons.

add to this the problem even quantity and quality of this things.

Starfield dungeons is the worse of all bethesda game, less of fallout 3(2008) and quality maybe you can find 5-6 good dungeons.

Quests Starfield is the worse even there, the quantity of fetch quests inside side quests category is around 70%.

Even fallout 4 have less fetch quests.

If we want call starfield a Bethesda game, is the worst in around 30 years.

Yes fallout 4 is better.

Roughly same amount of side quests, less fetch quests compared to starfield.

More dungeons and better quality compared to the very few dungeons, not copy pasted, of starfield.

The outpost is alot better in fallout 4, you can't even build your rooms in starfield.

Less things you can collect in starfield.

I think the only good thing of starfield are gunplay compared to fallout 4 and faction questline.

So... regarding that whole royal rumble between starfield and previous bethesda title.

Honestly, when it come to storytelling and writing, FNV simply blows everyone out of the park. The hook was better, the plot more interesting and, generaly speaking, the character, the universe and the impact the PC has on the storyline were better written far better.

In FNV, you're shot over a mysterious casino chips and left for dead in a small village, on the border of a war zone over some the most strategic ressources. You can chase your mysterious attacker or simply continue toward Vegas in an attempt to build your fortune. You have two path, one that will expose you to great danger and challenges your skills, the other will be longer and allow you trully understand the stakes of the universe. You are just a mailman, a nobody. You gotta earn meeting with important people, you gotta prove yourself.

In starfield, you're a miner, you touched a magic rock, you got attacked by pirate and now you get a free spaceship. Go find more magic rock to complete the halo magic ring. Any random figure of autority you'll meet will beg you to join their faction and you'll be their biggest hero in two quest (no seriously, this is ridiculous: I'm like four hours in the UC questline and I went from maintenance to counter terrorism in litteraly two quest).

FNV allow you to chose and those choices have consequences. Starfield give you a spaceship and goes "there buddy, be a good murder hobo and loot bad guys and get everything on a silver plate", like most Bethesda title. The only noticeable exception is pretty much F04, which simply railroad you.

Starfield is frankly in the long line of modern uninspired Bethesda RPG. It's... generic. Bland. Characters are more quest giver than anything else and the quest are just as bland. You go somewhere, you kill bad guy, you loot bad guy, you go back to be paid. The only quest that trully managed to get some thrill out of me was when I was unexpectedly stuck in a factory with monster and I had the actual opportunity to be creative by using my surroundings.

In the "gameplay" departement (if, for some reason, you consider that dialogue and writing is not part of the gameplay of a RPG) starfield is simply better than any previous bethesda game (except in CQC). The jetpack offer some serious movement possibilities in combat and make exploration far more fun. I got my first zero G combat yesterday and it was frankly a blast. But even with gravity, it is always fun to make massive jump then drop gun blazing on ennemies. Of course, the gun play has been refined, even if there is still that problem of bullet sponge ennemy (no, seriously, I have a bloody machine gun, why do I have to empty two mags before killing a dude?).

FO4 brought the settlement building mecanic, something that was still in to be refined and frankly owed most of its success to the modding community. Starfiel for the most part, managed to trully improve on that mecanic, not only allowing the playing to build settlement, but also his own ship, which can actually be used to fly around.

Frankly, the whole ship part is trully the best aspect of the starfield experience. It's however a shame that the game seriously underutilise it. Most of the time, your ship will be a gloryfied teleportation device. You do not pilot from one place to the other, you do not land on planet. You'll spend more time on your map, clicking where you want to go, than piloting your ship. You only trully pilot when there is a fight.

I haven't much tested the whole settlement part, but for I've seen, the system is far less clunky and more refined than what was existing in FO4.

So, is fallout better than starfield? I'd say it depend what you're looking for. If you want a sandbox where you can kill ennemies and explore the galaxy in a custom ship, this is the game for you. If you want an epic journey, with great characters and a memorable story, just go play FNV.
its not empty it only seems to be empty
