Are you sure? Because some companions do have weapon stats for ships.
First to shoot or the first to hit? When they jumped in to attack me I was busy turning the ship to shoot them. Not sure if they hit me, but the turrets were firing away.
It doesn't.
Companion starship skills add bonuses to your own skills. They don't function like your skills. For example, Sam's piloting skill doesn't let you fly better ships than you qualify for. Instead his Pilot 4 gives +30% top speed and a free pip in Engine power.
Anyway, your crew don't fire turrets. Your turrets will work with no crew at all.
Jack Nicholson, from As Good As It Gets: "Receptionist: How do you write women so well? Melvin Udall (Nicholson): I think of a man, and I take away reason and accountability."
Sarah seems pretty realistic to me.
The fact you can't toggle turrets on and off (powering them down isn't the same) by hitting the 'fire button' is a pretty big design flaw.
So power them down if you don't want your companions to be mad at them firing first.
Turrets do not require any crew.
Well for my mission, I needed to liberate a ship of a certain cargo. So if they aren't going to allow the freedom of said cargo to happen... certain actions will have to be taken.
Good to know, never tested the turrets without a crew.
Cheers!
