I Sold the Deadeye

I sold one of the best guns in the game because I had no idea it was one of the best guns in the game. As you might imagine, I'm rather irritated. Why do the companies that make games like this make it so hard to know whether or not you've found a good weapon? I hated this about Borderlands, and I hate it in Starfield. Nobody wants to see a raw damage stat! I don't want to have to use a calculator, a spreadsheet, or a mod to determine if one of the several guns I've found is better than the gun I'm using. Just show the blasted damage per second!

There is like 61 unique weapons in the game, a google search likely wil give you a lits. Grab that list and use it to aviod selling the unique ones

I am currently using a non legendary sniper rifle to kill everything. Not sure if I ever had the Dead Eye... I probably sold it if the base damage is low. I want big hits. I kill everything in 1-3 shots.

Deadeye was just a basic revolver with a special skin.
You did the right thing by selling it.

I kept my Deadeye because it's the first weapon a faction handed to me. It is on the wall as an ornament, because my Overcharged, Advanced MagShot is so much nicer.

Odds are decent you'll find a legendary razorback somewhere with much better stats.

If its so hard to tell thats its one of the best guns, its probably not that good in the first place.

the main problem with this gun is that on a normal new game you will only get the basic weapon, which means that there will be more effective weapons later on in the playthrough once you level up. so if you hold off on getting the gun till you are leveled up and have calibrated gear or better than you will only see a weak gun.

on new game+ things can be different.
i got the deadeye on new game+, it still has the same name but now it does way more dmg than it did in my first playthrough.
so i am guessing that it will reroll these weapons on new game+ to be more in line with your level (maybe giving it the dmg of a calibrated, refined, advanced or superior base gun).
since you start new game+ on a higher level you will not level up as much in a single playthrough and leveling up generally takes longer the higher level you are, which means that it will be a while in a new game+ setting before better guns come along than the deadeye.

There aren't superior guns, people on reddit talking about them are just adding multiple calibrated/refined/advanced mods via console commands to get cheater weapons...

(OMOD 0028f445 is *NOT* superior, it is a random quality mod (calibrated or refined or advanced). Previous quality mods are not removed when using the console to add more, so you can make 10x advanced cheater weapons with stupid high damage...)

i was wondering when i would get those superior weapons, but it seems i will never get those.

It's not that good, heck there are better guns even in it's ammo type

I would love to see a variant of the Deadeye skin that has gold repoussé, or even filigree, added in such a way as to enhance the engravings of the silver frame. I think it could do with a better vanity display, as well.

I keep all unique named guns. In cyberpunk I still use the pistol you get for free at the start of the game. Smei-Auto and upgraded and it can pack a lot of damage with perks.

Yes, and no. It's a unique variant of the razorback, but it also doesn't stack up stat wise against the Advanced Version of the base gun, and despite being unique has no special modifiers so you can EASILY get a razorback that is better than it.
