NG+ is worse than I thought [Spoilers]
I knew going in that it wasn't going to be good since I've done some research but it managed to be worse than even my low expectations.

Not only do you lose all your stuff you worked for but even the charts of star systems so you have to jump one by one system again. That didn't make sense to begin with since how do you have uncharged star systems that are chock full of built up POIs but it makes even less sense for them to become "uncharted" again after you go through unity.

The ship you get as a "reward" for this pointless exercise is complete and utter trash that is an order of magnitude worse than the ship I customised. It is laughably bad and of course, you can't even customise it.

I have to say that out of all games that I've played that have some version of NG+, Starfield's implementation is easily the worst one by quite some distance.

ng+ seems to carry over the research at least, something to do with left over resources.

I am on my NG7,

The Starborn ship maxes out at NG6 but the suit does not max out till NG10 and its armor is 249 across the board and all other protections are 50. All suits are Legendary so you get three other random abilities to go with the suit.

I plan on going through all 10 iterations "FIRST" since, as the author stated, you lose everything when you go through.

Actually I plan on going through 10.9 times. I want the hunters weapon. I just won't go to a new universe so I can keep it.

It is simply grind for a great suit, one of the top ones, and a great ship. Once you are done with the grind you will never have to do it again.

I think it's basically a decent upgrade from having to start over again with the frontier and it does improve as you do more NG+ (10 gets you the best one but even that is trash too compared to what you can build). But, none of them have any work benches, habs, etc... It's just a ... bridge. Although, the NPC's comments about it is really amusing, "Please maintain your current course for a - scan... Pretty please!" (guy on cydonia is the best, "Hey, I am having a problem with recording this entry about your ship. It wants a manufacturer. We'll just go with... AWESOME!" LOL)

Yeah, I am definitely not going through the bottom tier main quest another 9 times to get the best version of that crappy ship. As you pointed out, on a functional level, the ship is embarrassing, no crafting/research and not even a bed. It just doesn't feel like any sort of reward.

I would agree, that's definitely not why you would replay the game again. You would replay the game again to save your companions and achieve a "perfect universe" you can call home and break the cycle of the unity.

Just to be clear 250 - period. You can't wear helmets or packs with that suit. Which means 250 is all you get except from clothing. Additionally that means you're stuck with just 3 gear buffs (1 legendary). So as you get things like the UC Anti-Xeno armor, which totals some 500 from suit, helmet, and pack when you start seeing superior gear (about NG5 or level 100-120), that suit becomes weaksauce.

your right, they ARE different, in NG+ you get to KEEP your skills
if you Kept everything it would Not Be a NEW GAME

I see that you are still confused, in other games NG+ means one of the following things:

1. You get to keep your stuff and tackle the game as an OP character
2. Enemies get more difficult to maintain challenge
3. Combination of the above

That's how NG+ is done properly and it has always been different from NG, that's the point of the +.
thats Your opinion and its valid for You but i disagree
by definition you normally get one or the other not Both, in My opinion if you just 'move on' with NO change in items skills or loot its Not a New Game, and apparently the devs of this game agree with me
how can you call something 'new' if its Literally the same as the old, not another copy i mean THE SAME actual items?
the Plus just means you get 'something' not necessarily EVERYTHING
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Game_Plus
"such as keeping in the new game items OR experience"

its not for everyone but it is what it is

Once you level your ship skills, the Guardian ship can whoop anything. I would not say it is a bad ship other than you can't customize it and there is no bed. That is something Bethesda needs to fix in the next DLC.

You actually get the "best" ship on ng+ 6, unlike the armor it stops getting better.

I don't mind losing $$ and gear but the ng+ where you skip the main story is just tedious and painful. I heard that ng6+ is kind of the sweet spot but only made it to ng4. May grind out a couple of more and make a home in ng6 but they made it truly tiresome. Was hoping to get there and complete everything then call it quits until that prepaid dlc kicks in in first quarter '24 but I may lose the will to live if I try that grind.

just an fti, the armor gets increasingly better x10, it goes from 149 dmg (for example) to 246 for the tenth version called Venator

My only problem with the armour is you should be able to choose previous skins in the mod bench, i mean what is that tab even for I've never found anything i could put a skin on.

NG+ is perfect, money is not a problem, gear is not a problem , you have your skills which is most important thing.
building ship which can do what ever you want cost less than 600000 so making that amount money is not any problem it comes just by playing some missions to progress towards next round.
in theory you do not even need gear to play trough as if you know what to do it will be smooth sailing.

Anyway, I 100% this game just before and already uninstalled it. Due to terrible NG+ implementation, it's not worth playing past the 100% mark. You can all stop replying now.

You are entitled to your opinion. But to ask people to not reply? Really? Wow.
