Need help for stealing a ship

Hey gamers, i have played through Starfield and stole some spaceships here and there, i think i have 6 ships now. My flying skill is 4 (c-class), however i cannot steal this ecliptic claymore II. In the first screenshot it says in the top right corner "You are not authorized to fly this ship."
Does anybody know why, or are some random ships not stealable? Thanks for your time.

It may be using modules that only unlock with Ship engineering skill. You not only need piloting there is at least 1 more skill to unlock all ship parts and maybe even 2 more.

bro c'mon, they just locked the doors
it's a landed ship that drops some enemy NPC's off for you to shoot and that's it

can you actually steal landed ships? I only looked at the doors like two or three time and I could never enter them, and about a minute later they fly off anyways

Yes you can, more then once i ran towards one of these just landed ship and was able to get in there.

Ive even left some colonist out on a baren moon simply because i could and got a beter ship out of it. Did not even got fined or anything :D

The only ones that are *stil* locked for me are the starborn ones. But too my understanding these unlock after NG+1

@DANEDANGER yes you need fly and spaceship design for all parts, i have both on 4. It might be another problem.

@Fuzzyballs01 There are some ships which just drop of mercenaries and fly away, some will stay there till (i guess) you teleport away. This claymore just stays there, killed the crew but cannot fly.

shame money is so easy to get in this game

I tried to steal a ship for the first time.
Some eclipse bastards landed near me and I boarded the ship.
The idiots lift off while i'm fighting them on board, meanwhile sysdef started to shoot at the ship and it blew up before I could reach the cockpit area.

Later in same situation but with lowlife pirates. There was only like 3 on the ship after they dropped a few boots on the ground and they only in the cockpit. I tossed in a handgrenade and got them all 3 hehehe and the ship was mine.
It was such a crappy ship and way worse than the frontier. But I was so happy I pirated the pirates lol

I see there is a LOT of hidden things you can do but are not explained at first. all haters on forum say this is a lazy game, are lazy gamers not having looked further than the blue dot of quest direction.

after my 10 lock ship, i said screw this and click unlock on the doors[console], i ran 3 miles to get it, its mine, a lot of them are lock up w/o no way to enter

While I’m not sure with this particular ship, it’s worth noting that there are 4 classes of ship. A, B, C, and M with M being a class that the player can’t use, thus tending some ships unable to be stolen.

Haven't heared about M Class yet. If this is the case, well... damn. Maybe they don't want us to pirate certain ships in the basegame in a legit way.

M class ships tend to be HUGE. I know the Va'ruun folks have a few, as do the ecliptics, I was sorely disappointed when I boarded one, and couldn't fly it. :D

Yeah, there are some ships just floating in space and you cannot pirate them.

Considering how buggy stealing ships is (can potentially break saves?), and you dont get a huge profit from it. I dont bother.

Getting credits in this game is pretty easy. Im at level 30 now and have already collected half a million credits lol. Mostly from wiping out installations, looting the bodys, statues/sculputures/desktop ornaments, molecule extractors, microscopes, dragging all that back and storing it in the cargo hold. Then as you drive around doing quests, just sell it at different places. Ez.

Apparently if you have the Wanted trait, it wont let you steal landed ships.
