Highest number of Fuel consumption?

Let's say you want to jump between the 2 furthest systems in the galaxy. How much fuel does you need for that? I've tried to test it, but never got numbers above 290. And there are helium-Tanks with 400, which seems a little bit odd.

I wondered about that because the Kepler R you can get during that one mission actually has WAY to much fuel when you start.

I might be wrong but I think ship weight affects fuel consumption.

My current ship weighs 5k and has 250 fuel tank and gets around just fine. I think a super heavy ship might need more.

i have used 398 at time of my 400

Ship jumps using intermediary planets, and refuels with each stop off-screen.

So you dont need more then 200-400, provided you explored all the intermediary systems.

NG ship has 1500 fuel, by the way. Wildly un-necessary.

Those canisters with 1000's of fuel, I guess flavor only. No practical use.

Also keep in mind it changes drastically once you have level 4 astrodynamics and have Sarah on board for further jumps. There is a totally different fuel tank you would need before and after getting the skills.
