Why is Operation Starseed the worst? SPOILERS
This quest has been so infuriating since almost the beginning!
On meeting Genghis Khan
First introduction, backhanded compliment because he has manners, or call him one of "history's greatest butchers" GK is a "clone", not the actual historical Mongol leader! We already get that
Also, GK himself says that no-one knows where he's buried....so what did they clone him from? There's a slate to read later that claims he was Serpentor-ed together from GK's descendants, but at the time, the reason I don't believe I'm talking to GK is because of nothing to clone him from, not because I'm in awe.
Later, in the Facility
You read some of Ada Lovelace's slates about things she saw there. Oh, great, maybe I should go find AL at Crucible and see if she can help me? Found her, and I can't talk to her about that stuff? What? I need to talk to FDR or A or GK first why? I don't care about them, the Mission is stupid (note that at least FDR has acknowledged that the Mission is stupid, but otherwise am supposed to be taking GK and A serious as threats to the Settled Systems? No, they're only threats to themselves)
On the Beagle
Search around, find out about their "research". Then robots start attacking??? Why? They just told me the security systems were disabled so that the other team could easily take what they need! But now, for no reason other than player might be getting bored, they turn the security system back on? What???
Anyway, there are allusions to research and materials that would be useful to the Facility...should I be able to find those and survey for planets that will help the people at Crucible? Oh, no, am I overthinking the stuff that I was just told?
The summit
Get back to Crucible, apparently something serious is going on, I don't care. "Ada, help me decode this." Ada: "Something terrible is happening, I'll talk after that's sorted out." No, seriously, that's their problem, I don't care!
Fine, I go talk to FDR, try to tell him I DON'T CARE, let GK leave, he's an idiot and at worst he'll be a moderately successful pirate who gets killed by a surveyor with a bounty-hunting hobby out for 3000 credits and salvage rights.
The conversation at the summit has a bad outcome and a less bad outcome, and the path to less bad is kinda neat, but...no opportunity to use social skills here? What?

Overall, the problem with this quest seems to be that in order to cut corners to get it done, they just decided it would be best to assume the player character is, for the duration of this mission, incredibly stupid. And then later explain to you everything that was obvious to you from the beginning. And then never let you independently act on the knowledge that was obvious from the beginning. Because really, you're just stupid.
