Why are structural as heavy as habs !?.
This question actually struck me when i was quickly trying to re-fitt a ship
for carrying passangers for a quest... any structural and hab modules of the
same size weights the same in terms of mass, which is REALLY stupid.

Why would an empty structural 1x2 or 1x3 structural module weigh as much
as a 1x2 or 1x3 armory , medical or living area module ?.
It's like the game is hardcoded into all modules of the same size-type
must have the same mass, doens't matter of they're a placeholder,
coolingfans or engine. Same size = same mass.

There is a mod called Nova Cowling 2L-SF which is 1x2 cut diagonally in
half.... HALF , but the module still weighs in at 8 Mass which is the weight
of a COMPLETE 1x2 module - which doens't make any sense .

We either need a mod that makes structural mods weigh much less
or our devs fix this issue by removing atleast 50% of the mass
or structural mods.

I took a look at a lot of habs vs structures and the mass doesn't change
is the size is the same. Despite if the module should be more or less empty or not.

I have to agree, I found this weird as well. It made building more challenging then it needed to be.

Yes this needs a change and more attention from the devs...
Makes no sense and also makes it harder to keep the mass down.

Structurals are heavy armored.
Habs are empty.
It affects the hull.

Well habs are hollow on the inside, it makes sense they wouldn't weigh as much as some structural pieces.

What I don't really like is having the mass go up with no benefit other than aesthetics. If something raises the mass, it should also increase hull points.

Uh, why wouldn't they be? Habs are hollowed out spaces. Structures take up similar blocks of space, but aren't hollow on the inside. They're either going to be solid, or filled with other components like electrical systems. Especially if it's the structure pieces that provide retrograde thrust.

If anything, structural pieces should be proportionally heavier than habs of the same size.
