Neon is an embarrassment
it's basically an attempt to recreate a street corner of Night City but it's from wish.com and it was made from disappointment, disease and was deep fried in cringe
This game feels like those "continue the drawing" where the backside of the horse is well drawn by someone else but what BGS drew next has fifth degree burns and almost looks like it was supposed to be a living being. Almost.
I'd be so embarrassed lmao

Laughing at people's genuine inability to comprehend OP just using video-game-Night-City as a point of comparison for how cyberpunk cities can be rendered in AAA titles

"Um ackshtually Alien was cyberpunk and it predates Neuromancer, looks like your point is invalid OP"

I legitimately did not know why people were correcting the OP on a claim he did not make but then I remembered Reddit discourse has turned most peoples brains into oatmeal.

And here I was thinking it was intentional...driving down the strip in Las Vegas is not so different than the main floor in Neon for signage variance and the ebbsite and underbelly is full of druggies, so I wouldn't expect top notch signage.

And your point is? I've read that about three times and I'm still not sure what you're jabbering on about. If you are referring to Starfield trying to copy Cyberpunk, then you're wrong. Cyberpunk has been around for decades.

Neon represents a Cyberpunk type world of a high tech neon lit city in a dystopian futuristic setting. Cyberpunk is a sub genre of science fiction that has existed in fiction probably since the 1970's. Ever heard of Blade Runner from 1982? You probably weren't even born back then.

I laughed at "deep fired in cringe", but there's nothing of substance on your criticism. You are either faking dissatisfaction just to hate on the game (as if there wasn't tons of actual stuff to complain) or you don't have that much of a superior aesthetic sense your post seem to imply.

Neon is a pedestrian city dedicated to tourism and commerce, built inside a planetary structure by one corporation. By design, you won't see cars, rain or skyscrappers. The city was planned from the ground up, which leads to a different outcome from how a city on Earth would evolve, leaving old structures and shoehorned low cost habitations in the middle of more modern structures.

While I know Starfield lacks in social commentary (for example, the social divide between New Atlantis and The Den was only told, not shown) and has a very tame display on more adult matters, it also makes sense for Neon to have clean streets. The administrator guy has control over internal drug production as well as a strict policy on it's distribution and preventing competition. He's the shady type of guy that would just remove homeless people and junkies out of sight by any means necessary.

Night City is open territory, disputed by government, corpos and gangs. Neon is a single corpo proprietary city, such terrain is much easier to control.

You said "it's basically an attempt to recreate a street corner of Night City", implying that Bethesda copied an aesthetic style from CDPR. A style that has been around for forty years.

Good god.

What just happened in your brain?

I'd agree that Neon is a bit underwhelming, it's basically a very small strip mall with two big towers. I would even argue it cant really be called a city being so small. Maybe a hamlet.

And Night City copied Blade Runner. Nothing in Sci-Fi since the 1950's, when most of the great Sci-Fi authors died or quit writing, is original.

Neon is rather small...but comparing a city in a game to an entire game is asinine

It would be nice to have a game where the cities in the game where all the size of night city tho...I'l admit that
