Try different a Hab combination. iI also depends on the level of the Habs and their location on the ship. Lots of good YouTube videos you can watch on Ship building. In the search section on YouTube, type in Ship Building Tips for Starfield.
Yes, yes it does.
I too enjoy the ship building. I also was confused a little when I first started using it, keep at it because it will all make sense after you understand how it works.
A picture (steam screenshot - F12) of your ship with the problem might help us see what the problem is and help you work it out.
wtiger27 is correct, your cockpit and your landing bay do not need to be next to one another but you will need to be able to walk from one to the other inside your ship for it to be 'workable'.
I think you are talking about the docks, and the tc is talking about the landing bays.
I have the Taiyo landing bay and it is connected to the front of my ship. You talking about the little landing bay right(?) if so that’s the one I have.
no the bays. Stroud and Taiyo have doors. Deimos, Nova and Hope have ladders. Stroud has to connect to the port or starboard side face of a hab, Taiyo has to connect to the forward or aftward face of a hab. the other 3 have to connect underneath a hab where the ladder port is.
Most of the time, you can select all (double click your ship) and then you can more easily see which piece isn't connected properly.
It is likely that is why it said your landing bay wasn't connected to the bridge. Something in between wasn't connected properly, and likely just needed a nudge into place.
Hey dtt.scanner, nice to see you about.
I enjoy the ship building, not as much freedom to design as PE but good fun. I am crawling my way to level 60 when I will play with the ship designing allot more here.
Have Fun.
So this is not entirely true, and I believe there is a bug. I have my cockpit, attached to an all in one birth, with the landing bay on the other side. I set this up first to ensure it works and it does. The moment I complete my hab layout and start adding things like reactor, cargo etc, it disconnects from the cockpit and I have to start all over again because there is no one to ensure something is connected without building the entire thing again.
This is a bug, because I literally have my cockpit and landing bay attached to the same hab, on only one level, and it’s still telling me I have it done wrong.
This ain’t it chief.
