Missions from mission boards - a question
I think I read somewhere that these missions can be more dangerous and/or rewarding if the missions are booked through a board in an outpost located in a high-danger system.

Is this true, or am I hallucinating?

Not sure about that, i have noticed the higher lvl civilian outpost bounty boards go to higher end systems where loot is better. Not sure if this also goes for a bounty board placed on your outpost

Do not know about that but the rewards for those One Riot One Ranger quests go up as you level. Went from 10,500g to 16,500 for me now.

Once you've put a good chunk of time into this game including the MQ then the boards, at least for me have become a large part of what I do. Of course I do plenty of other activities like Outpost building, Ship building, scanning, and general exploring but to answer your question the mission boards have become my sole source of missions (outside of the MQ) and yes they are dangerous outside of the Constellation Mission board whjich would be the least dangerous of them all.

I use The Freestar Ranger Board in Akila city which is located inside The Rock. Then after you do a few you can continue to grab their board missions of which one will be a series of One Riot One Ranger Missions you'll get from Diego.

While I'm in Akila I also use the mission board inside The Hitching Post but the same board is also found in Trident Luxury Lines, and at Stroud-Ecklund although sometimes I'll find addition bounty missions at those right after grabbing some from the Hitching Post. You can also add this board at Outposts you build where you can also add a Bounty clearing board.

I run missions for the UC Vanguard that you get directly from Commander Tuala at MAST in New Atlantis unless you sided with the Crimson Fleet then you get their missions from them instead.

So outside of the last 2 groups where you get them from a person the bounty boards are all dangerous missions as opposed to the missions you get from NPCs you run into in the galaxy although some of those are somewhat dangerous.

When Vae Victus sends me out on assassination mission it tends to target high level systems. I haven't tried any of the cloak & dagger missions from Ryujin yet.

I like the rescue missions from the Freestar Ranger board. Just started the One Riot missions.

I honestly haven't been paying attention, good call out though. I'll have to keep an eye out

Ah, do all three locations unlock that Bounty Board that's buildable? If not, which one does? I've seen a third board in player outpost snapshots but never was able to find how to get one.

Same board at the View port in New Atlantis.

You can build that one, and the Constellation board along with the Bounty Clearing board at any Outpost.

You'll also notice that almost all of the Civilain outpost locations have a bounty clearing board outside. This is very useful if you have a bounty and want to pay it off but can't enter UC space w/o being caught. So instead fly to a Civilian Outpost that's not in UC space and use it. Or of course fly to your Outpost where you placed one.

Thanks for the reply-I have the mission board and the Bounty Clearance but I've seen the third one in player outposts but it never has shown up in Build Mode for me. Maybe I need to unlock it by using the View Port one again.

I find higher difficult missions by going to a planet in a high level system, find a friendly outpost in that system, like a mining outpost or civilian outpost, they should have a mission board. That mission board will have missions for just that system, so if its a high level one it will be around that difficulty.

Note that missions that require you to destroy a ship in space will be scaled to your level, also the pay still sucks but the loot usually makes up for it.
nzguzzi Oct 21, 2023 @ 8:37pm
True, payout is the same but loot and ships if you capture are better like rank III
A planet often has a couple of missions in its system in my bases that are set up on all level 75 systems, and you build a mission terminal.
( Grab the more missions mod as well )

Three boards to build, just cycle through them when building.
But, only do this if there are the three dot points of interest markers, because systems without any PoI's or settlements are dead AF to try and get enemy to spawn etc, way less chance.

Thank you very much all.

I set up a mission board on my Outpost which is in a level 75 system and I always get one mission to kill a Legendary Boss on a planet. The Flight missions also seem to be ones in higher systems, like level 65 pirates, spacers, etc.

This is correct.

If you find a civilian outpost in a system they usually have a mission board. One of the missions is guaranteed to be in that system. So depending on what level the system is will depend upon the what the level bounty will be. Once you get familiar with the level titles you will recognize the higher level targets.

For example, if you find a civilian outpost in Bohr (level 75) you should see bounties for Ecliptic Commandants, Spacer Myths, Pirate Legends, etc.

As nzguzzi pointed out some high level systems are uninhabited. The easiest was to tell is simply land on a moon or two and if you do not see any structure POIs then the system is uninhabited.

VV gives you missions?

What did you select in the conversations to have him enable to do that?

You had to keep the secret he is alive from Hadrian.

Yeah he got me with the Raymond Reddington game the first two times times around.
I felt SOOOO much better telling Hadrian on the third and it painted a better UC picture. Without any spoilers, you REALLY have to tell Hadrian in one NG+ you do.
