Questions about Ship Command perk

I want to add points and increase my crew size:

The description says I have to kill 5 ships with a crew of 2 or more. Well, I've killed a bunch of ships. Several waves of ships in some side missions like "Groundpounder" and all of those ships only had 1 crew?

What am I misunderstanding about this?

Do not use a ship that you stole use a ship that you bought or got from a quest & you have to have a crew of 2 or more on your ship

Really? I shouldn't be surprised about the stolen ship issue, but the text in that perk is referring to MY crew? Ok, that's not a problem. I'll switch to the Star Eagle and see what happens.

You can also modify or build a ship wich contain at least 2 crew members .

Add a larger cockpit one that says 4 crew cheap enough, And good luck

I've killed a bunch of ships with 4 crew members actively walking around my custom built ship. I don't think that's my issue.

For some reason if you are using a stolen / pirated (but registered) ship, it won't count them. If you use a purchased ship, it seems to count them.

Need to test it with a quest acquired ship.
Aneutronic Fusion rank 4 had no issues counting kills in the pirated ship.

i cloned my star eagle free ship then i sold it i should have sold the clone my mistake the cloned ship would not do the command perk Luckily i had bought the stronghold & that did the command perk

I had this problem also. I got to rank two and the skill stopped advancing. I was using a C class ship at the time. I bought a shieldbreaker (B class) and put four crew on it and the skill start advancing again. I stayed with that ship until the skill was maxed. It just doesn't seem to like C class at all. :D

my stronghold with all the best gear on it is a c class i had no problems doing the command perks

Your ship have to have this "2 crew" and you can only do this with game ships you get, like the Frontier or Razorleaf or Star Eagle, ships you capture do not count for this perk.
