Freestar Rangers rescue the hostage bug? (Ship refuses to spawn)

So I don't have the game on steam, since I was trying it on Gamepass. That said, I have running into an issue now at around lvl 54-55 where the hostage ships refuse to spawn when I grav jump into a system to try and disable and rescue the hostage from whatever pirates that have hijacked it.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Yep, landed/launched; went to moon, returned; went to another system returned, closed /.opened game.. no Freestar Autobahn III ship in sight. solar system shows pointer in orbit..

nope, already rescued three or four hostages now once I realized I could back to Akila and get them at the Rock. For a test, you could grav into a different planet in the system and then look at the system to see if there is a Flag at one of the planets or moons for the mission.

Just had this same bug, Skipped out of system & back, went and did another mission, quit out of game and back in again. It's fubar so writing it off as another "Will not complete" for the quest list.

Never had that particular one but there's no denying the game has a few impossible to complete missions. Mostly I just wish survey missions were more frequent and the dang Constellation mission board didn't keep giving up entirely.

spent prob a good hour looking for autobahn I on Lillius, but nothing. flew all around in orbit, landed in half a dozen spots on the planet but cant find it for the life of me. frustrating

Yes. The first mission works as expected, but subsequent missions, there's nothing at the target location.

I have this issue now too. Get any Freestar Rescue mission, go to highlighted planet with Blue marker, and ship no longer spawns at destination (yes tried all places in system too).

***Once it happens to your character it is 100% PERMANENT with NO FIX***

I have found that even going back to previous saves from 3 days ago before the bug first happened, rescue missions I had previously done no longer spawn the ships too.

Full reinstall didn't work either. It seems to be deeply embedded in variable inside the character profile itself.

So if you do encounter this, kiss rescue missions goodbye. you will never be able to do them ever again.

SetStage 14cf4a 100 # from quest ID above


I noticed that when I go to the location, there is some wreckage floating about. Maybe something blew it up before I could do the rescue?

i did your fix, and it immediately rewarded me the mission as complete. I must have already either rescued him randomly, or destroyed the ship in the past. Either way its fixed!

Does this mean that achievements are now disabled?
