functional bathrooms

I would like a bathroom 'section' or 'module' for outposts. Or even a way to build walls within the habs to section them off to create a bathroom.

I do a half assed version with a one segment Hallway and use of the Privacy Screen/Seperators. Its still troublesome to rig up. I have to attach the sink to a screen and then place the screen.

Too bad you dont accumulate RADs like in fallout. There are plenty of radiation hazards in this game. The showers could help clear rads or something.

Haha, I'm using those too. I like the idea of the hallway though. I never thought of that. As a former architectural student it bothers me to no end when I can see the toilet from the door. And since there is no door for the screens I position them in a way so that no one can see the toilet from the outside. As for smell, well, I can't fix that. My outpost would be uninhabitable for a bit if someone was on the toilet doing their business.

I think it is more about accessibility and simplification than missed opportunity. Sometimes these small additions get in the way and sometimes they are nice. It really depends on the audience and the game's focus. Most of us noticing the outpost issues are probably not the average player b/c most are not building them. They are blasting through the missions or doing other stuff and getting their XP from missions and materials from vendors.

I add a science hallway habs on that do not connect to anything, in out of the way places that won’t obstruct a nice ocean view, and place a sink, toilet and towel bar in them as make shift water closets. Seriously wish we had showers and washing machines that could be placed in outposts too. I swear I left some companions assigned to an outpost for a while and when I came back they and their clothing were filthy dirty.

On The Eye in the bathroom, you can flip the orientation of the toilet paper

Little things like this, can help to make the game feel more immersive. And one should not have to resort to mods to add it. Fallout 4 did a better job concerning this. Vanilla.

This would only consist of 20 loading screens it could be done..

There no cell phones, no social media, no memes to read whilst sitting there. But true there would lot's of loading screens.
