You don't need to keep those. You can stash them, sell them, jettison, whatever you want. You'll still retain the bonuses granted.
I think the badge is actually a quest item and cant be dropped, but otherwise no you shouldnt NEED to carry it, it does give you some dialogue options but I dont know if they're there if you're carrying it or not.
I know there is for weapons, helmets, and stands for outfits and such.
IRL I have a Shadowbox and some Challenge coins. On some level, dksiplaying such things are an inherent part of humanity.

Yeah, there are weapons racks and display racks (various items) in the outpost menu, and the Armory hab module has them (But only the Hope I think has mannequins?), afaik theirs no other display module sfor your ships, so only in houses/outposts.
