Game crashes when saving

Been playing a while now, and this is new to me. When I save, or the game attempts to autosave, Starfield freezes and crashes. What do I do to stop this?

I had it do this once and I ended up deleting my very old manual saves, seemed to generally improve performance and reduce stuff like this from happening.

I reduced my total saves from about 8 to 5 (3 auto, 2 recent manuals only)

Ok, cool. Thanks. I only have 2 manual saves. I'll reload from my last manual save, then delete everything.

This is happening to me. Game runs perfectly but sometimes crashes to desktop when I save. I don't have many saves either, a quick save, an exit save, and two manual saves.

Could be save bloat depending on how much you have discovered, or stuff you are storing. The save files get hammered and you either restart or go NG+ to get a more reliable fix.

I have a boatload of saves, both manual, and auto/exit saves...... so far, it hasn't been an issue. Current count is 264.....

I simply disabled autosaves altogether. I make saves when I want to.

I'm having a different but equal issue.
Whenever I save on Titan, try to board Deimos spacestation and previously on Neon (somehow fixed when disabeling mods and re-enabeling one by one) my game crashes. Tried disabeling all mods, updating GPU, updating computer, deleting shaders and cache, turning off FRS3, setting graphics to low and still crashing on SOL system.. I can enter Cydonia perfectly fine but not the others..

I'm experiencing similar issue. If I load the game, I can't save. If I go into the main menu and try to delete saves, the game becomes unresponsive except the music still plays... real bummer that this game isn't even playable. especially for the price!

I am having this issue now too - perhaps it's an update bug?

Let me add this... I have noticed that there is no audio when I enter a system that will scan me. The Scan Status box pops up and goes through the scan. I know I will crash on the next save, and it does! So there is something connected here, but I don't know what it is.

Starfield was made for top of the line SSDs, for some reason. :/
