The ability to be a part of House Va'ruun is desperately missing from the game.

I got to the end of the romance with Andreja, and it did something I really liked, but I was disappointed by my available responses.

Basically, she eventually brings it to the player's attention that both she and the PC will be on the opposite sides of her afterlife, because of their religious beliefs. This presents a very interesting narrative thread that I wish I could have pursued in more depth.

I wanted to lean into this moment more. I wish I could have

a). converted to her religion

or

b). tried to convince her to leave her religion

But all the responses basically boiled down to "it doesn't matter, we love each other here and now." Which is just kinda lame, because it doesn't address the issue directly.

I retried the interaction with the Serpent's Embrace trait, and there was no difference... Also very disappointing.

It seems, based on the way the faction is characterized, is that to be on the right side of the Great Serpent, you have to be in House Va'ruun (meaning from their locations and families), not just merely believe in the Great Serpent. So I think this is why the Serpent's Embrace trait doesn't do enough roleplaying-wise.

This interaction made we want to play a character with origin in House Va'ruun, possibly with the ability to go to their settlements and do story related content with them.



Here's to hoping a DLC will flesh this faction out more.
