Heyo - you can roll back to the previous version of the game. Don't update until the new SFSE is released.

Yep.
I really need the disk cache mod to make the game run ok on my machine.

yeah its an update available... read the comments on nexus or wait until the creator brings an update.

you should be able to set the game to "only update when i launch the game" and it won't update IF you start it with the script extender.. so you can wait until the script extender is updated.
granted i'm basing this on skyrim and fallout 4, but the "script extender" we have so far for starfield is not by the same people, and i haven't even started using it yet, but worth a try since it can save you from a lot of waiting in the future.

One would think that in 2023, Bethesda would have included something so fundamental to all of their RPGs in Starfield as default. Even negotiate with the developer of the mod and come to an arrangement.

But they are not known for thinking outside they safe old box.
I just rolled back to a previous version of the game's exe.
