The Most Boring Game I Have Ever Played
Congratulations Bethesda, you have managed to create possibly the most boring and generic game in quite some time. I am simply puzzled and baffled that this is the end product, a complete bore fest, one where I have next to no motivation or desire to continue playing.
I firmly believe that the Sci-Fi genre is not your cup of tea. There is nothing enjoyable about this title, period. From its pacing, to gunplay, to spaceship combat, to exploration, to its visuals and music...all lack any charm or redeemable factors. Mr. Todd Howard should be embarrassed that he was involved in this project. As well as Microsoft for buying Bethesda, and this is all that they have to show for.
I'm sorry folks, I really love Bethesda's previous titles, quirks and all, but Starfield is just unacceptable.

It's bland, soulless, and cringe. The generic alien artifact story, the terrible dialogue is what killed it for me. I'm baffled how people can enjoy this tbh

So you must have played lots of boring games over your gaming history to honour Starfield the “most boring”?

Or perhaps the issue is not the game(s) but you and your lacking attention span, creative imagination?

The game is indeed boring. It's got nothing original in it, being just the usual fantasy medieval fodder thinly disguised to look like a sci-fi game. I had no interest in the main plot and there wasn't a single NPC that I cared about. The dialogue "choices" are meaningless as only one choice matters and the AI is pitiful.

It's a visual novel, nothing what you do really matters. The main task is to collect artifacts solely for "scientific reasons" and to visit temples to gain Jedi-powers.
Once in a while you have the loot-shooter mini-game or a space-shooter mini-game, which are NOT on 2010 standard.
NG+ makes no sense, there's nothing worth replaying.
It doesn't get me exited at all ... 'boring' is a good way to describe this game, I'm just being honest.

Starfield is the most generic, uninspired, empty, bland, poorly written & restrictive RPG I've seen in recent memory. Bethesda should be ashamed & ridiculed for this one. Oh and its cringey, Starfield is absolutely riddled with far left think game design (this coming from a progressive person). As for pronouns aka more representation/customization I fail to see how that is in anyway a problem. Some dregs of society really are just filled with hate it seems.

Also I'd like to point out how strangely there seems to be so few Caucasian filler npcs. Not to mention the existing npcs look so bad they more so resemble Floop's monsters from the OG Spy Kids movie than believable colonists.

Most of us expected a more traditional Bethesda RPG. Whether you enjoyed your time or not I think you'd agree this was a pretty far departure from the systems & choices (or lack thereof) we're accustomed to.

All in all so very disappointed with Bethesda's latest outing, & truly worried for the future of The Elder Scrolls & Fallout games.

Just imagine how bad it would have been if they didn't delay it so many times.

Word on the street it was Cyberpunk level broken at the original release date. Bugs can be fixed, that's why Cyberpunk is good now.
Starfield will forever be bad because the problems are baked in (poor writing, forced current-day ideology, game engine limitations, boring gameplay, uninspired story)
And modders will not save the day this time

I'm OK with gameplay, but the story and dialogue are indeed boring. The writing is... just not good.

Gamepass exists dude, imagine actually buying this unoptimized mess for $70-$100 with nothing but a trust me bro from Todd Howard lmao.

This is why it is annoying that people clump issues together. Sure bugs are annoying, but if the core game, like Cyberpunk, is great you don't even notice them. You just want to experience the story, you're bummed out when Jackie dies etc.

Starfield also has bugs, terrible AI, stupid companions etc. But the real problem is under the hood like you mentioned, the writing is absolute garbage, done by talentless people. It's not getting fixed, it's a flop.

A flop that has made a ton of money unfortunately. I'm honestly surprised at how many people enjoy Starfield's mediocrity.
