Or perhaps the issue is not the game(s) but you and your lacking attention span, creative imagination?
Once in a while you have the loot-shooter mini-game or a space-shooter mini-game, which are NOT on 2010 standard.
NG+ makes no sense, there's nothing worth replaying.
It doesn't get me exited at all ... 'boring' is a good way to describe this game, I'm just being honest.
Most boring $70 game I have ever played.
Also I'd like to point out how strangely there seems to be so few Caucasian filler npcs. Not to mention the existing npcs look so bad they more so resemble Floop's monsters from the OG Spy Kids movie than believable colonists.
Most of us expected a more traditional Bethesda RPG. Whether you enjoyed your time or not I think you'd agree this was a pretty far departure from the systems & choices (or lack thereof) we're accustomed to.
All in all so very disappointed with Bethesda's latest outing, & truly worried for the future of The Elder Scrolls & Fallout games.
Starfield will forever be bad because the problems are baked in (poor writing, forced current-day ideology, game engine limitations, boring gameplay, uninspired story)
And modders will not save the day this time
Gamepass exists dude, imagine actually buying this unoptimized mess for $70-$100 with nothing but a trust me bro from Todd Howard lmao.
This is why it is annoying that people clump issues together. Sure bugs are annoying, but if the core game, like Cyberpunk, is great you don't even notice them. You just want to experience the story, you're bummed out when Jackie dies etc.
Starfield also has bugs, terrible AI, stupid companions etc. But the real problem is under the hood like you mentioned, the writing is absolute garbage, done by talentless people. It's not getting fixed, it's a flop.
A flop that has made a ton of money unfortunately. I'm honestly surprised at how many people enjoy Starfield's mediocrity.
