Don't use the Aceles creatures... (SPOILERY)
Near the end of the UC Vanguard missions, you have to make a decision to tell 'em to use a bioagent virus or a special creature to hunt the terrimorphs. I told them to use the terrimorph hunters. And every single one of the Constellation companions chewed my ass off. Sarah was particularly indignant and sounded like she does in combat. Even Andreja was pissed off.

I don't know how they react if you chose to have them make a virus but that just sounded like bad news to me. But man, that's the most emotion I've seen out of these characters. So, if you don't want your Constellation honeys to give you an earful,
chose the virus.

Just take the ass-chewing. You're doing the right thing and some will be happy later.

i guess they are all just really impatient it seems.

I just ignore Constellation as companions tbh. Don't need an NPC following me around nagging me about stuff.

But why worry about saving a bunch of idiots ? Why not just roll the dice on them with a randovirus (and secretly hope that it mutates into something worldbreaking in the future :helloween: ).

ignore the NPCs, you will end up with a nice bachelor pad at the end of the mission.

Sam is the only one to believe in the use of Aceles; the others trust the microbes, such as Sarah, Barrett, and Andreja. Personally I think the Aceles are the safest way to go and a bio-agent virus is to risky. There is however no consequence for picking ether one.

I took the clone lady with me and she was like: "I agree, good idea sir."

It is called BAD WRITING.
Every single companions has a negative reaction to using the Aceles.

Choosing the Aceles has a better ending.

Which is odd because the creatures are slower to deploy, but safer as opposed to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ microbe that could have far worse implications.

The best part about companions in this game is when they leave you. So poorly designed, they are beyond useless and just nag all the time "I got something for you".

Either option sounds bad to me. Australia has had bad examples of both courses.

Way back Cane Toads were introduced in Queensland to kill the Cane Beatles that were damaging sugar cane crops now they have spread to most of the North half of Australia endangering many native species. Seeing as how the Cane Toad has a toxic outer coating there are no predators that don't die form eating them so they have gone rampant.

In the 1950s the government introduced the myxomatosis virus to help eradicate or control the introduced rabbit population, but they developed a resistance to it. So the government has had to research other methods with varying degrees of success. Although not nearly as bad as the Cane Toad issue it's lead to some not so great issues.

So I guess of the two, the virus is the less of two evils.

Ecology is a science, Constellation.

Option A: Bring an almost extinct species back from the brink, that has been proven to work extremely well at the necessary task in question for millennia before the settlers even went to the origin system, while also being a valuable livestock species.

or

Option B: crop-dust a random virus all over ever habitable planet and hope it accomplishes what it was designed for and doesn't mutate or "accomplish" anything else.

Constellation: Option B obviously, option A is for science deniers that want more people to die.

WTF sort of logic is that. I did see some speculation (no proof obviously) that this was because it was suppose to be commentary for the Covid situation though, with no small part being due to Sarah berating you that you didn't "trust the science" if you go option A.

The Aceles existed before, people got hungry and ate them to extinction.
The Aceles goes bad and you can eat them, you cannot eat microbes.

Now that heat leeches are the known cause, terrormorph spreading will drastically decrease.
This gives time to clone/grown more Aceles.
