I updated my post as it had accidentally posted before i was done editing.
I had no idea such a things existed and you are probably right, logically though if I am someone who scans for contraband and come across someone with something that interferes with that process. I would definitely assume they had contraband then confiscate their things on general suspicion.
Shielded cargo only has a 3-37% or {something like that} chance depending on tier of blocking cargo, scan jammer only gives 50% chance, meaning the best cargo and scan jammer gives a 87% chance to avoid detection it is never 100%. You always risk getting caught. Take ranks in deception and when they hail you lie your butt off.
Didnt know there were advanced jammers or a perk. Thx.
so pull a Han Solo. Got it.
So just wanted to confirm this; having 2 50% scan jammers installed doesn't add up to 100% reduced detection chance? The 2nd is just taking up space and mass?
And while I'm here: Also just installed shielded cargo bays, 2 x 160 t, so 320 total, with 1470 total cargo space. If I smuggle one Aurora, weight 0.1 kg, there is still a chance it will be detected? 87% 'blocked'?
Realism in gaming: Never actually exists, if it did we could use the convenient parts of realism instead of just patting ourselves on the back for more random dice rolls and UI click spam for basic tasks.
Damn, I just removed one of the jammers since I read above here that having more than 1 is no point...?
I'll do some experimenting. I also saw a reddit thread where (like above here) they said that having multiple tiers scanners installed will only give you the benefit of the smallest one.
For example, if you have a 20% and a 50% jammer installed, only the 20% will count, and the 50% is ignored...
I have a feeling there are some bugs with these atm.
