What the hell is wrong with the 110DP Docker - Top? This applies to OTHER docker hab pieces as well.
It LOOKS like it should be a 1x1 hab type structure, has ALL connection points to link to hab parts except it kicks back errors of 'needing to be connected to the cockpit, so what the hell is wrong with this part?

post images so we can actually see the problem

Here, ignore the structure connected to the side of the cockpit, as I found out with this docker module it does NOT COUNT as a connector for ship parts either, when I put this in place where I had a hab and the original docker it errors out on parts not being connected as well.

Have you tried slapping a docker door on the roof of a companionway instead?

Even altered it and moved things back to put the docker BEHIND the HAB connected to the cockpit it doesn't work, this part is just utterly broken.

The bit sticking from the top ISN'T the docker? That seems counter intuitive to the whole point of the block if so, I'll try and report.

No, you cannot place a docker on it, and applying another docker to the ship gives the error of 1 docker allowed.

Docker probably has to be directly connected to the cockpit - not to some other unit that is connected to it but does not have a path. As the message says "Dockers need to have an interior connection to the cockpit" That means that the docker itself needs to be connected, with no intervening modules that do not have a connection.

If you look at the companion way that is below your docker it only appears to have doors on the left and right and not the front. That could be the issue as well.

Try reconnecting everything, the only explanation I can think of is that its not recognising THAT docker as a docker for whatever reason (not high enough to work as a docker maybe?)

There are two types of dockers. Those that are just a part that goes on top of an already existing hab or companionway and can be accessed from said hab or companionway and then there are dockers that look like entire rooms (at least from the outside) but actually function the same as the first type. Therefore they need a hab or companionway BELOW them or they can't be accessed. For the same reason they can't be used to connect two corridors.

I posted the same thing but then realized he has the docker above a companion way. So in this case there should be a connection.

From what I can see on that screenshot it looks like the docker is blocking access to the cockpit.

Unrelated:

That's a nice layout design and I like the purple.

The docker is hooked DIRECTLY to the cockpit like it is strangely demanding but still reporting errors. I even tried the other docker hab section being sold and still got the error. Either those blocks don't work or there is some specific setup needed for those to work.

You cannot put the docker directly on the cockpit.
Armitage Shanks Sep 24, 2023 @ 7:48pm
Check the docker and look for a snap point that has a small arrow pointing to it. This is what dictates where the docker "door" to the ship is. As far as I can remember all of those full block top dockers only have access points on the bottom of them so need to be installed on top of a hab, and then that hab needs some way to reach the cockpit. Also check any habs you're attaching things to, because not all of them have "doors" on all sides. As a general rule, dockers will have interior doors opposite their exterior docking clamp.
