Building Infinite Storage onto an Outpost...?
I have too much stuff. Even if I only pick up what I need, I simply can't carry it all.
And I can't keep going back and forth between The Lodge and my outpost.

Is there any way at all to build an infinite-storage container into an outpost? The storage bins I've unlocked so far barely hold anything.

I ask specifically about building one into an outpost, because people seem to misunderstand the question in other threads about this issue. I'd like to make a new storage unit out of resources in the outpost-builder, one that doesn't exist until I make it. Is that possible?

You know you can continue sprinting you won’t die. You just lose 80%of your health. 1 hour of sleep can easily fix that.

That isn't helpful.

I just build lots of storage at my outpost. About 50 solid/liquid/gas/warehouse boxes for materials. Dozens of chests for everything else, mannequins, weapon racks, helmet displays, pack back hangers, etc.

That doesn't sound like "just" anything.

That sounds like exactly what I'm trying to avoid.

you shouldn;t need 50 of any storage, man,

Storage crates have a higher weight limit (150 I believe versus like 40-50). Nothing's infinite except you just dropping everything on the floor (though I've had things glitch through furniture and stuff so I'm not sure I'd rely on that entirely--but it does seem to work: I dropped a bunch of weapons/suits in one of the houses and it kept).

In terms of encumbrance, I'm guessing you don't want to use console commands (I'm assuming the same ones that worked for FO4/Skyrim work here but I haven't tried it yet because I want to finish achievements--don't recall if changing that will affect achievements).

For encumbrance, remember that boosting and jumping in low grav environments will let you travel further than you might get just walking. Just run jump and jump and jump. It still uses some O2 so long as you're pressing forward but I can get further in low grav environments with it.

Also, and I'm assuming it's a bug but maybe not, if you ADS you will recover O2 while moving...of course, you're moving slower than just walking. But, if you're like me and are constantly overloaded while clearing a POI or something, it's a helpful way to recover O2 while still moving forward (and sniping targets along the way).

Had this very same discussion with my adult son just the other day. The only thing I can say is mods will be what fixes that problem. Count on it.

Remember in Skyrim when you could get to like 60 in alchemy and enchantment and then you could just make some boots of carrying +2^31

They should be at least ten times that. Each.

I can carry more than 200kg with me, and those giant crates can only hold 150...? Make that make sense to me.

I would definitely prefer not to.
But it may be necessary; the game seems to have really screwed the pooch on this one.

I think that might be an illusion. You don't really go that much faster forward while up in the air.

See, I don't like these workarounds.
The game should provide useful options that don't make what should be fun into a giant PITA.

Bethesda should fix it.

But you're probably right.

In Skyrim, all containers had unlimited storage. All of them. In SF there's 3 that i've found, all inside The Lodge.

What this game should have is infinite storage where its connected between all outposts. I.E you put your materials in an infinite container at one planet and can access it from a container of the same type on a completely different system. Assuming of course you have the required perks or whatever.

Right now i'm doing the exact same thing as OP, teleporting back and forth from the lodge. Very annoying and boring.

Someone should create a mod called Alien Logistics. The ability to create infinite storage containers for each type of object. Make it hard to craft. Also throw in a sorting machine and conveyor belts that can connect to everything including the cargo link landing pads. Or just hire the guys from Satasfactory to fix it :)

Storage is trash and needs tweaking from the developer end.

Yes, fallout 4 had workshop in settlement, had unlimited storage, same for supply route link, much better than this starfield outpost's storage and cargo link.

Well, that's another thing...do they ever have an outpost-building tutorial at some point? I'm a little bit flying blind, here (though it seems easy enough, when you're not short on resources). I've got the Beach Bluff Bungalow I'm building coming along nicely, looking over a tranquil ocean...

But while I was building, I noticed that a lot of buildings that needed explaining weren't getting explained.
From what I've read, it sounds like cargo links won't link storages, but transports excavated/extracted resources...? I d'know; it didn't make a lot of sense.

It'd be lovely if it just worked like Fallout 4, without all the fuss.

Maybe they expect us to build gigantic cargo hauler ships to transport it all...
