That sounds like exactly what I'm trying to avoid.
In terms of encumbrance, I'm guessing you don't want to use console commands (I'm assuming the same ones that worked for FO4/Skyrim work here but I haven't tried it yet because I want to finish achievements--don't recall if changing that will affect achievements).
For encumbrance, remember that boosting and jumping in low grav environments will let you travel further than you might get just walking. Just run jump and jump and jump. It still uses some O2 so long as you're pressing forward but I can get further in low grav environments with it.
Also, and I'm assuming it's a bug but maybe not, if you ADS you will recover O2 while moving...of course, you're moving slower than just walking. But, if you're like me and are constantly overloaded while clearing a POI or something, it's a helpful way to recover O2 while still moving forward (and sniping targets along the way).
They should be at least ten times that. Each.
I can carry more than 200kg with me, and those giant crates can only hold 150...? Make that make sense to me.
I would definitely prefer not to.
But it may be necessary; the game seems to have really screwed the pooch on this one.
I think that might be an illusion. You don't really go that much faster forward while up in the air.
See, I don't like these workarounds.
The game should provide useful options that don't make what should be fun into a giant PITA.
But you're probably right.
What this game should have is infinite storage where its connected between all outposts. I.E you put your materials in an infinite container at one planet and can access it from a container of the same type on a completely different system. Assuming of course you have the required perks or whatever.
Right now i'm doing the exact same thing as OP, teleporting back and forth from the lodge. Very annoying and boring.
But while I was building, I noticed that a lot of buildings that needed explaining weren't getting explained.
From what I've read, it sounds like cargo links won't link storages, but transports excavated/extracted resources...? I d'know; it didn't make a lot of sense.
It'd be lovely if it just worked like Fallout 4, without all the fuss.
Maybe they expect us to build gigantic cargo hauler ships to transport it all...
