True, if the year is 2330 the AI would probably not need to say "processing" that many times. Still funny though!
You need at least the first level of target locking, not necessary but it helps immensely.
If you are fighting 3 you need to kill the two others first, the third you need to get behind, press R and blow his shields first, then engines ..... it should allow you to dock if you are very close without having to blow the ship.
To make it a 100% takeover you need an EM weapon, blow the shields first with regular weapons, then most of the engines ... then switch to EM weapons so you don´t destroy the ship, it´s very easy to destroy a vessel you wish to "steal". The threshold for when allowing to board is very finicky.
You really only need one EM weapon mount, keep target locking and firing at those engines with the EM weapon .... only the EM weapon.
The thing about it is that it's not even *that* interesting of a quest, like it's not especially creative nor is it fleshed out much at all. But because Starfield is so full of low quality, ♥♥♥♥ quests - this quest stands out for actually being decently interesting. In contrast, if you put this quest in a game like Cyberpunk 2077 where there are plenty of stellar, well-made quests, this would just feel more like a regular run-of-the-mill quest.
this particular quest is bugged too.
Those 2 dudes you are supposed to drop off on neon - if you change your ship before doing so, they will be permanently stuck in your new ship near the docking hatch. For the rest of the playthrough. Even if you delete the module and ship and build them elsewhere.
lol of course it is :D
Can you say what EM stands for, and can you also say if or not you need to shoot specifically/manually at the enemy ship's shields and engines or if destroying those is a separate mechanic?
ETA: You do this after locking on, by clicking the reticule of the target ship when you're within around 500 m (it'll show that) then the graph will show.
