Easy way to line up placement
I see a lot of people who have the same problem I had...getting items to line up in the outpost due to the lack of a grid or the ability to have them snap into place.
However, I figured out a quick and easy way to get items to line up. Instead of trying to rotate the item use this method instead:
1. Go into Build Mode.
2. Select the item you want to place.
3. if not happy with alignment, hit Tab to cancel
4. Rotate your view slightly left or right, then select the item to place again.

You can get much finer adjustments to placement by rotating your view or where you are standing. Now I can very quickly get items positioned right where I want them by quickly switching back and forth from placement mode to making an adjustment to where I am looking and then back. Note: You do not need to exit build mode to use this method, just cancel the placement of the item.

Hope this helps!

Another way is to just place an item in-between the items you want to line up, snap fit it in the middle, place your item on the other side, and delete the middle one.

This achieves actual grid-like perfection for the 2 items on the outside, if you want it to be like that.

The easiest method is to use the Yellow line.

Every item that you can select in OutPost mode will 'appear' lined up with your view so center your view with the yellow line, THEN switch to your item group with Z/C or Q/T and voila! Only a handful of items appear off-view (Like Carpets) but for everything else this works beautifully.
