New Game + doesn't belong at all.
I STILL LOVE THE GAME

After playing the entire game through multiple times in an attempt to get to NG+10, i can finally say that the concept doesn't belong in a bethesda game. Now before i go on, i should say it doesn't completely kill the motivation to play the game at all. However, the way they made NG work is incredibly boring and repetitive.

Yes, i know there are possibilities for different variations. However, the chances of these happening are very rare, which makes no sense at all. These should happen at every play through, making things more interesting. The chance of multiple realities is thrown around, but they all feel the same.

This makes getting to ng+10 incredibly boring and repetitive for me. Not only that, but apparently you can stack powers and skill books which makes me want to spend extra time doing this, instead of speed running the playthrough in about 20 minutes.

But like i said, this doesn't kill the want to play the game. But this concept truly doesn't belong in a bethesda game, where we have always focuses on 100% ing our playthrough.

The point of the game is not to grind out NG+. It is there as a means for replaying the game when you get bored of your current run. Enjoy the journey and when you get bored you can come back do another NG+. I'm 170 hours in and I'm only now finishing up the main story. I will probably blitz NG+1 (and maybe 2) but then I'm going to set up shop and build my outpost network proper.

Then in the future when I need the content back, expansions are out, or I just want a fresh start I can do NG+ again.

Only problem with New Game plus is that you can't change background and traits, that is make worthy while for new game plus if we are allowed to change background and traits to see how story change out.

Traits can be removed via talking to some NPC's. Aquiring new Traits can be done via reading certain comic books. Only thing we cannot change is the starting background. Or at least not without utilising player.removeperk.

Bad idea that i am ignoring as much as possible and hoping the DLC and updates make Starfield epic.

Starfield is half epic now mixed memes and cheap sabotage making all resources all worth 1 credit making the much advertised and important mining laser worthless as much as possible without deleting it entirely, and making grav drive charge time 1 second making the much advertised grav drive worthless as much as possible without deleting it entirely, and stuff like that,

I would say if outposts were any more broken they may as well not be in game at all as well.

Except... Instead of starting a BRAND new game several times, we can finally keep our unlocked skill points! Tjere is no BGS game I didn't play through several times...

IMHO NG+ is so you can play with the same character, at a higher level and explore different outcomes. This way you have a buff character and don't have to grind, or cheat, to get the skills you desire. With no level cap and experience that trickles in NG+ is a bit required if you wish to get to the higher levels.

Problem is at the end there isn't much difference in what path you take.

I have had a few interesting NG+'s.

One where all of the constellation members, your followers, we're children. Problem is I ran into the no inventory no save bug and couldn't enjoy it.

Another one I had all of the constellation members we're clones in appearance to my character.

On my first NG+ run now, completing the full story in different ways on both playthroughs. No need to rush, but it's fun to make different choices.

I agree that NG+ should allow you to change traits. It is much more fun that way. That's why I used the console to change my traits when I did NG+ the first time. I limited it to three, and removed the old ones. I suspect this will eventually get added in an update as it just makes sense, changing traits shouldn't require starting over from scratch.

Anything that requires creative effort they delete when you go NG+. However, if you want the full story of the game you have to play NG+. So basically don't ever build an outpost or a ship and expect to keep it or have it saved for later use.

This also means if you want to keep your ships, outposts, etc, you can't ever play any DLC, because that will definitely spark off the NG+ wackiness.

i think ng+ and how it links with the story is great. dont rush its just not worth it, this is a sp rpg lol. why rush? im on ng+ and just enjoying doing different choices, seeing new weapons drop ext, it just makes a new playthrough abit more interesting.
