For real though upgrade your ship. drop lasers and cannons, go for particle beams only. 4 with a damage of 35 to 50 are enough. Get some proper shields with at least 900 strength and assign crew members that buff your weapons and shields. Space battles become a piece of cake
oh yea i knew that, but does not make any sens, imagine your in a space battle, and your target boosts, and your brain goes well that's gone, who's next to target =D
The game also teaches you that by the enemy boosting in combat and you loosing weapon locks.
I play on Very Hard and didn't find it to be difficult. I don't recall needing to use even one ship repair part.
The pirate route was easy.
And I'm in the Razorleaf, which seems to be a decent ship at least.
The only thing that made a change was changing down to Normal mode. And it was an easy peace of cake. Done at first try. Enemy ships just melt so fast they have no time to reorganize, feels like cutting butter with a hot knife.
