Ship automatically flying after exiting conversation
If I initiate or accept a hail and start conversation with another ship, every time I exit, my ship's engines are engaged at half throttle, even though I wasn't moving before the conversation started. It's a small problem, but really annoying that I have to stop my ship every time. Especially when I hail a bunch of different ships flying around Jemison in order to sell massive amounts of cargo. It's even caused me to fly into other ships a few times.

Is this happening to anyone else?

It happened to me and I found it to be really annoying. I think I have stumbled onto a solution though. When you come to a stop to start hailing ships, don't just use the speed adjuster to slow and or stop the ship, cut the power level to your ship's engines too. So far, this has been working for me. Even though you posted this awhile ago and have probably already found a solution, I wanted to post this here for others to find. I looked everywhere and couldn't find this solution. Most results were for people who had a ship take off without them and left them on a planets surface. If you hadn't found this yet, I hope it helps.

Man that is such a simple and smart workaround. Makes me want to face palm for not thinking of it myself. Thanks for sharing. I'll definitely be using this.

Don't facepalm, I wish I could say intelligence brought me to this solution when in reality it was luck. I have been playing the game with this solution for hours and it works. In fact, unless I need or want to go full speed, I have been adjusting the engine power instead of using the throttle. As I cut back or increase the power levels, the speed the ship travels slows down or speeds up too. I agree with Xenophobe, the game really should remember your throttle level rather than just defaulting you to half throttle. This also works with grav jumping too. I hate jumping to a planet and then the ship is moving to it at half throttle. Unless you need to fight a ship right away, it's pointless. You don't need to be moving to get scanned and the ship auto lands where you tell it to without power to your engines. Oh and you're welcome.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
