Walk speed too slow
Seriously this needs to be fixed, the walk speed is unaturally slow, usually when i walk in real life I walk faster, this walk speed is just anoying and it mocks us player who like to walk, Bethesda Please let us change speeds so we can enjoy the game even more, or simply match the speed with the NPC's

You might have hit the caps lock key by accident that will change the speed

at least the walking speed should be adjustet to match the walking speed of NPCS indeed, thats the best way anyways since both walking slower and walking faster than NPCS is aweful when you have to follow them.

that exactly what the op is complaining about though, the player characters walking speed is way slower than the walking speed of NPCS so if you have a quest to follow a npc and you press capslock the npc just walk away from you.

Just type a console comand to increase walking speed
player.setav speedmult [#]
Change [#] into a value. Value 100 = 100% speed

I said WALKING speed...

Just use the ground vehicles in the game instead of walking everywhere... oh wait :monstertrainhaha:
Kosevich Sep 20, 2023 @ 11:37am
Alternatevly you can use chems. It calls AMP, it will increase your speed by 35% for 2 minutes, exactly enough to complete a quest.

The run speed is fine, but the walk speed is slower than any other npc you have to follow. It should be sped up just a bit.
tukkek Sep 20, 2023 @ 11:38am
Use consume to walk good :monstertrainhaha: sounds like Starfield alright LOL

I agree with OP, but I doubt ol bethie will give two ♥♥♥♥♥ enough to change it. So I'll just deal with it and eventually mod the hell out of the game once I have all the achievements I want.

NPCs like Sarah Morgan iirc have their speedmult at 140, so changing your player.setav speedmult to 140 should give you the same walking speed.
Imo its very annoying when there is a quest and the NPC you have to follow walks, but faster than your speedmult 100 default, but much slower than actually running, poorly designed imo. after speedmult 140 (starting at 141) you no longer walk, but slowmo-jog iirc.
So for aesthetics, keep 140 at max I guess.

(idr if this disables achievements though, I reckon it will even tho its fairly harmless, but could give you a really big boost if you amped it up to like 1000~1500, so thats why i suppose it will)

You can bind a speedmult toggle to a hotkey in StarfieldConsole.ini (happy to give instructions, if needed) so you just press a key to switch your walking speed and don't need to bring up the console in-game. If you want to "consider that a cheat" it's up to you, but it fixes the issue well enough for me.

Bethesda likely doesn't see this as an issue, they didn't with the slow walking speed in previous games, so don't expect a "fix" from them.

Xbox controller works good in this game.
