I would be surprised if someone isn't already working on something like this.
PS: I would love to shoot some bugs
Give me the Predator faction that has a quest-line hunting increasingly dangerous alien beasts which include Xenomorphs culminating into the the final Misson where you assault a hive and kill a Queen.
FO4 had humans, that were unique enough, robots, zombies, different type of mutated monster animals and so on.
SF has humans (all behave and look pretty much exactly the same, whether spacer, pirate, ecliptic, civilians...) Aliens (all behave the same just different skins) and the occasional robot. That's it. Another disappointment.
There is, though it's only one alien.
I came across a ship that was exactly this. Obviously minus the xenomorph, but it was an alien that they brought onboard and everybody was dead.
There is actually ^^
A derelict ship to be found and explored with the corpses of each crewmember containing a message about a mysterious extra " passenger" they might have picked up on the last planet.
Small spoiler alert You do end up fighting an alien creature, but it doesn't look like the one we would expect here. Maybe a big Facehugger kinda?
It's not as obvious as it should be, but the inspiration is clearly there. I guess they couldn't call the ship the Nostromo either ^^
Unfortunately I don't know which system it was in, I was hoping from system to system looking for ships in orbit that you can see on the map. I don't think there was an actual quest attached either, I'll check next time.
For me it was in the Schrodinger system, but I think where the derelicts are is randomized.
