Are storage crates in ship modules persistent?
Some ship modules, like the armory for instance, give you storage crates and wall slots. Are they persistent for the ship? If you swap out ships what happens to the items in those locations. I know the "transfer my entire accumulated wealth in the cargo hold" bit, but if I want to outfit one ship for one purpose, and another differently, would those items stay there in the other ships?

If you move ships, everything is moved.

As to the containers . . . I threw some items into a container and about twelve hours of game time, several game days and they haven't respawned yet.

Everytime you make a change to your ship, even changing it's name, it will automatically dump the contents of the ship into your storage. So look for it there - I routinely sell the misc tab every time I make a change to the ship.

When you change ships, or edit your exiting ship, anything in those crates will be dumped to the cargo hold. So no, they are only persistent for however long you have that ship as your current Home ship and don't edit it. If you switch to a different ship, anything in the chests will be moved to the cargo hold.

Perfectly safe to use them though long term if you don't plan on editing or changing ships any time soon. I keep a ton of extra outfits and some other things in chests and haven't ever had anything go missing.

they are sort of there, but buggy. usually if the ship is reset, all the item will go into your main ship storage, then you have to rearrange them again which is a pain but you don't lose anything. i however have some experience when the main ship storage inventory just get deleted due to bugs and you lose everything... so you are better off putting your "collectable" in an outpost.
