Persuasion is easily one of the best skills in the game when it comes to speed-running the main story and farming those temple upgrades.
Being able skip the final boss fight with a single dialogue check is a huge bonus.
i do like persuasion when i'm doing missions as its usually spared me from a path i didn't want to do or gave me a more interesting path mid mission.
also with persuasion i like the slight bits of extra info you can get... yeah alot of persuasion rolls are generic ones for some of them but most persuasions options have strings of thought that follow the whole persuasion attempt and often if you use the more unique ones they will give you unique dialog with extra info or story.
only time i've used stealth was when the mission heavily implied it was "the way", its kind of fun in those structured missions but freeform its kind of meh
That kinda reiterates my thoughts on it being points i shoudlnt have spent early and just done it late before going into NG+ or on later NGs
I remember you would get xp from completing quests through stealth in a few games cause i would play it as a stealth character and still be able to lvl up, in this game if you go through something via stealth you wouldnt even lvl up. I feel like the stealth is just to get yourself in a position to snipe people with a silencer but not actually complete something without killing anyone. Think Deus Ex and Metal Gear. Also possible its just been so long since ive played those that im not remembering right. Cause i do remember in DE i could knock everyone out and that was my xp gain.
Ive been doing a bunch of the smaller side quest stuff so maybe you see more of that in the bigger quest lines. That is something I like about persuasion in games is the extra dialog info.
Ill have to play around with stealth a little more and just kill people from within stealth instead of trying to sneak by and finish everything like Metal gear
One of the things I hope modders fix. They need to add a ratio of locations inhabited by United Colonies and Freestar Soldiers.
I mean there are a ton of perks to unlock and you cant do that without xp I already feel OP at 17 cause of a lucky wpn drop
Useless was the wrong word cause ive def skipped over entire fights but I feel like Im way weaker than I could be if I didnt use persuasion. I always use it if its an option and I dont think ive lost a persuasion check yet. As one guy said earlier its going to be good for speed running but I feel like I shouldnt have used skill points on it this early.
