*SPOILER* Kid Stuff Trait and Dream Home Trait Review

***SPOILERS BELOW***

For those not familiar, the kid stuff trait is one of the traits selected during character creation. You send your parents a few bucks every month so they can live in New Atlantis housing. You can cancel sending money to your parents anytime by talking to them. If you visit the lodge your companions may mention your parents left a message for you.
More importantly, if you keep visiting and talking to your parents they give you stuff.
I've gotten a weapon, armor, and most recently a ship!
Also I've met them randomly on another planet visiting a zoo and the lodge.

Dream home trait is also selected during character creation and gives you a mortgage on a property in a nearby system. You can pay it off pretty quickly at the bank in New Atlantis (125k), but its also not that expensive to just pay as you visit. You're required to pay 500 per/week. Unlike the kid stuff trait its also only pay if your using the place. So if you don't visit money isn't being automatically deducted like the kid stuff trait. One down side is that you cannot decorate the outside as its not considered a base. Many prefabricated shelves in the house are also difficult to place items on. Also, I've yet to figure out how to rotate items on different axis when at a base.

Yes, I regret having taken the dream house perk. Waste of money. However I earn so much credits now, that I do not care about wasted credits for the dream house anymore.

i'v tested with two saves, the parent look a tad different when you base your toon of a different preset, BUT the second time they looked so BLOODY UGLY its clear they base it on RNG and NOT on what options you picked when creating your toon lol.

For me it's not about credits. Mostly QoL.

Like I knew that I sprint a lot in all BGS games, so went for extravert and planetbound which both increase your 02 reserves. Metagaming, kind of.

i really love both of them specially the kid stuff with contend and already decorated home etc with its history didn't want to bother decorating new ones... i didn't pick traits first so did a new character and this one he has all powers lvl 10 all quests done etc etc took me 200h... i also have the flat in neon, the one from the vanguard, the sleepcrates, the one in the well and 2 in akila..

well after not a long time money isn't an issue at all especially 125k... you get them so easily you can even sell ammo... also the planet is very beautiful and with the pathway etc. thing is you have to fast travel to another planet etc which makes it a bit annoying to me.. i prefer the kidd stuff already decorated etc with its history
