Who here honestly think lockpicking is fun?
Its the worst (I realise at least they tried to make something new but still) system Ive ever seen. Its some really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ guessing game and "do you have enough lockpicks to go back with" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

The more I play this game the more I question what the hell the developers were trying to do.

I like this lock picking system compared to say Fallout New Vegas, it is much easier. You can solve the entire puzzle before even starting it.

I really enjoy lockpicking in Starfield. It's a nice change of pace.

I like it - fits the theme, nice little break, definitely the best one so far.

I kinda like it, but not as often. I would love if getting more skills into secuirity would allow to skip minigame on easier locks.

You can, there are auto solves that you can bank. Also the rings turn blue to indicate which keys you can use on that level.
How does autobanking work?

Personally, i do not use any of the digi picks. i go through each tumbler and assign on paper which ones will be used to unlock each ring example: tumbler 2/6 - outer ring 3/7 middle ring, and 1/8 for the inner ring. rules being that no tumbler can be used twice and no tooth on the tumble can overlap with another. to me, finding the right combination is interesting and fun. some of the more advanced ones have tumbles that are not used, and i have yet to find one that needs more then two tumbles per ring but i am not at the master level yet. for me this item makes sense and currently i have more then enough digi picks that i stopped looking for them.

It's amazing when with the second skill which highlights the lockpeaks

I liked it. Still do. Then realized that master locks are taking me too long to figure out. So now I just downloaded a mod that completely simplified it.

youre a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiot dude... its not a random guessing game. the rings light up blue for the slots the are compatible so it largely becomes a process of elimination. when you have multiple rings that fit then you look at the different layers to find out which combo works best. while its a bit repetitive i think its far more interesting and engaging that old lockpick minigames of staring at a lock and moving a lever back and forth to find the sweet spot or tapping the pins just right to get them to stick

I do

Meh, the more you do it the easier they get.

Sometimes if you get lucky, if you hover over the rings itll highlight the ones that work with what rings. this can help you know which pcs to start with. Often it comes down to a 50/50 choice and I quicksave before doing them so I dont have to think about it to much.

I think Starfield has the best locking mini game ever seen in a video game. It could be made into a standalone puzzle game in and of itself.

I was pissed in my first run because I didn't have the habit to buy all digipicks always - now I do. the system itself is amazing, no guessing at all, it's am IQ test disguised as minigame.

I actually really like it, I didn't mind the lock picking system in Skyrim and Fallout 4 but I think I like this one more, might just be because it's new. If you really dislike it you can download a mod that lets you easily solve it without having to think.

I liked it quite a bit when I understood it. It's like a mini puzzle and I do enjoy puzzle games.
