I had to call it off with Sarah today

So, I'm 'romancing' Sarah but had to call it off. She's just too ♥♥♥♥♥ for me, far too insensitive to my needs as a person--as it were. Whoever wrote these relationships, dear gods, calm down, not everything has to be rampant space ♥♥♥.

Anywoo, I was near death when returning to my ship, I'd forgotten my med packs and didn't get enough on the mission, just a series of lucky shots on me, or from me being half asleep at the wheel, or me just being bad at the game at the time. Anywoo, got to the ship and since the Infirmary doesn't actually do anything, I went straight to my bed in the Captain's quarters to heal up. Then I wake up with Sarah saying "That was quite a workout... hope you had as much fun as I did."

I was kind of annoyed, outraged even. Lady, geez, I was near death and all you could think of was riding me like some carnival ride. Not everything has to be ♥♥♥, Sarah, you insensitive so and so.

Then, it got me thinking about the "commitment" with her, which is all a one-sided affair with me being along for the ride, and I just had enough. I'm a person, Sarah, I have needs. And sometimes that involves being able to rest and heal without you seeing that as an opportunity to ravage me like your a medical raider going through an unsuspecting village. Sometimes, I like to snuggle, not everything has to be ♥♥♥, Sarah. Gods!

I guess I just woke up to the bad writing and mechanics lol

You have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ every time you sleep. It's not a big deal. It's true for any character you are in a romantic relationship with.

I don't think those lines are bad. The "flirting" lines, however, I founds absolutely embarrassing. Like embarrassing that that's the best the Bethesda writers could come up with.

Especially embarrassing after having played BG3 where romantic scenes could be so good they give you chills/tingles.

Tbh, I automatically associate most white women with Karens. But her character is just more in line with that type of person. She's super condescending to Andreja in some of their conversations and the way she reacts to certain things you do is Karen behavior.

These companions. lol

I am not romancing them. Just playing through as a "colleague" with these Constellation folks. My only real complaint is their incessant chatter! There is no pleasing these people. Pick up too much stuff and you get berated for carrying too much. Do you have to pick up every piece of junk you find.

Drop a few things like a maelstorm or eplictic helmet and get berated for don't you thing we can use those. Inventory management is more than enough. I do not need every companion questioning me and making snide remarks every time I pick something up or drop something!

And Andreja the "too sensitive - needs to understand your feelings"-character.

I keep our encounters completely professional. 2023 Human Resources professional. The only female character I WOULD 'date' so far (20 hours in) is that Bounty Hunter, standing around on Mars. But, I have 'things to do' - no time for a bad romance.
