Such a great game - reminds me of the older Escape Velocity Series. Tons of mods, developer still churning out new feature releases 7 years later. Thats a game that actually has some passion behind it, and something to show for all the continued years of support and development.

Thanks for the video. There's an ancient game called Space Rangers 2 that probably inspired this one. Looks similar and one of my all time favorites. Definitely going to grab this one.

Yup I loved that game back in the day even though the ground combat meta of spamming rocket launcher robots gets really old after 30+ hours.

I enjoyed Rebel Galaxy on my first playthrough but didn't really have any desire to go back and play it again. Starpoint Gemini Warlords is a similar game but with 4x elements and fleet management.

For anyone wondering that video is now inaccurate. The game si even better. The new bounty system lets you choose jobs mroe reliably and keep their difficult levels even. The story point system let's you make even more powerful ships and crew, and there's even a new set of capital ships for everyone, like the luddic church getting an ancient dreadnaught design. Please people, support starsector.

Well Aurora 4x got you covered, if you can deal with very simple 2D graphics. It’s also free.
